Well said, moon. My dad, raised in East Texas, used to walk around the house singing Hank Williams songs. It was the background music of my childhood.
I'm looking forward to this movie.
Cariduro and moe, more stellar additions to the straw parade.
moe--yes, this humidity we're having is unusual. I can't quite adjust to it although I was raised on the Gulf Coast.
Mantis--nice profile shot. I have an idea what may be in the jar, but what's the hat you're wearing? Is that...
Wow, the super straws are out in force today. Well done, gents.
Bob, welcome to the visual world, we knew you would pull it off, and with a couple of nice hats, to boot!
foxtrot, very nice overall look and welcome to the Lounge!
Nice ones, today, fellas. I've been away for a few days on the job interview circuit. Sooner or later someone is going to tell me to show up for work.
moon--I may have to make a fawn CD my next hat. I like the look and the way you have it creased.
Out in the heat in a Penney's Marathon...
triple-d, modern surgical techniques pretty much ensure you'll survive to wear it. I wonder if any of the high-dollar sellers would take a kidney in direct exchange? You know, cut out that pesky middleman. ;)
Yes, the crease and swoop are very close!
Good looking Friday lids today, guys. This one will never rise to the level of your factory reject, Alan, but it does keep the sun off my increasingly naked head.
:eeek: :eeek:
If you check the completed listings for this seller you will see that many of the hats sell for "Best Offer". I know that can be less than half the originally posted price. I also know that eBay may hide the best offer price and may show a higher price than what the hat actually sold for. I...
All of the advice above is very good. I'll just add that regarding sizing, I never trust anyone to accurately measure the interior dimensions of a hat. As an old carpenter, I know how easy it is to make a mistake, even if you measure things all day, every day. I was burned once when a seller...
Greg--thanks for the compliment on the Borsa. I wonder if when you show up for a job interview wearing a hat they think you have character or you are a character.
Alan--crisp-looking buntal. Optimo does nice restoration work.
Here's one that needs some work, but I'm wearing it anyway.
Royal...
Thanks, Fruno. I've got three more next week. I decided three months ago to leave my well-paying but high-stress job and take my chances. I need to find something soon because my hat addiction is not getting fed due to lack of funds!
Sam and Harv, a couple of nice additions to the day's display.
I would have expected it to also come with the framed results of a DNA test to authenticate the provenance...;)

+1!
Lotsa nice straws today, too, gents.
I was able to get away with this ultra-light Borsalino Alessandria. Having a job interview this morning caused the stubble to disappear from my face.
I had it happen once in San Francisco. Right onto the brim of a nice gray vintage Dobbs. ^*&#!!! seagull!
I was able to get back indoors quickly and I just washed it off, leaving no trace. Had it dried, I probably would not have been so lucky.
