Understood, but again I'm just reiterating, I'm not expecting perfect stitching. I'm expecting good stitching. There is a decent amount of crooked stitching, the extra holes, and missing stitching at the cuff. I would understand one of those problems and chalk it up to being handmade and not...
I would like to, but I would feel bad for Carrie/thurston who helped me through the process and put the effort in, they shouldn't lose out on money because of Aero's bad QC. I might contact them directly.
The holes are noticeable from a foot away, not a magnifying glass, so wouldn't really call it OCD. I do not expect perfect stitching whatsoever, but I expect my $1200 jacket not to have a bunch of missed hole punches in multiple places along with missed stitching? I didn't even mention, there is...
That's what I thought too. I noticed the gouge and I was like ah that's a shame, at least it's small, but then I get to the stitching and the fact that it is on both cuffs and I'm like man...really?
Funny, but I'm serious I really would like to know. Is this something I should expect in my jackets at this price point? I've been into higher end leather shoes and wallets for quite sometime. This isn't something I would expect to see in my Alden boots, or my Ashland Leather wallet. I want to...
Hi, as some of you may know I recently got a custom Aero Sheene in Badalassi ordered from Thurston a couple months back as my first leather jacket. Immediately when I received it, I noticed there was missing/broken stitching around the cuff. I sent it back to Carrie and she did a good job...
Yes that's the one, the most recent navy 42. I'd say it's maybe a pound heavier than the halfbelt? Maybe the feeling was because it hasn't been broken in, but it was a good amount stiffer and heavier feeling for sure.
I had a test fit cafe racer in Navy cxl, and man it's crazy to think they are the same leather. I mean, color, feel and smell are the same, but the weight is very similar to Vicenza or my Badalassi. Not heavy at all. Really enjoy it so far.
I noticed that too, almost an aqua blue. Doesn't really bother me, the jacket is only a year old, after a bunch of wear I'm sure it'll all blend together.
This is my second leather jacket just received today. A 1930's slim aero halfbelt in Navy cxl that I got used. It fits really well I think! Really weird it's very very short in the back, 24 inches (my sheene is 27). But the front is long enough to make it work imo. What do you all think?
Badalassi is excellent!! Don't sleep on this leather, one of the finest I've felt. Definitely have to have a full jacket in front of you and not just a swatch. And Carrie is so great on sizing with just pictures. Thanks again!
That's a great looking jacket. Is that the washed/natural buffalo? I was so close to getting the natural vicenza as I love natural veg tan, however I thought I should go with a jacket I'd love the color with from the getgo for my first custom, instead of one where I will have to wait a bit to...
To be fair, I also have done some leather work over the years, but on a jacket this nice and expensive, and being brand new, I feel much safer to have Carrie handling it haha.
I know the deal haha, happens with every hobby. First one is perfect so I shouldn't need anymore right? I wish that was the case haha. Thinking next one will either be a highwayman or maybe a hooch hauler in either navy or black cxl or dark seal. Have to get some contrast to this one!
All good, going back to Carrie and she will have it fixed. Great customer service, to be expected at this point. Carrie will have my business in the future for sure!
