It's definitely stiffer than a jacket you would buy off the shelf somewhere, but that said, it's still extremely easy to wear. I once handled a CXL steerhide jacket at the Schott store here in Los Angeles, and that thing was an absolute monster. Just unbelievably thick and stiff and greasy to...
Thanks, man. Your Ridley was actually the one that got me thinking about this style way back when you first posted it.
As for the girlfriend, she's probably still wandering around that parking lot, so feel free to go and find her. She loves modeling jackets that don't belong to her, so you'd be...
Hello everyone,
After taking all of your advice into account from my "Best Leather for a Lifelong Jacket?" thread back in May, I ended up ignoring pretty much all of it and instead decided to go with Tumbled CXL FQHH. After finally receiving the jacket today, I decided to take it to the one...
I was also surprised at all of the CXL hate that this thread inspired. I always hear that Chromexcel is tough as nails for boots and belts, and I used to read that it was tough for jackets, too. Now it seems like the thinking on that has changed...at least around here.
It was nice to finally handle the Vicenza and see what it felt like, but unfortunately the base of the zipper was about an inch smaller than my body, so I was never able to actually zip it up. Very nice jacket, though.
Thought I'd give you guys an update on my Thurston Bros. fit jacket. My girlfriend was just randomly snapping pics, and somehow managed to capture me looking like Adam Sandler in "The Waterboy". Well, either that or Ben Stiller as Simple Jack in "Tropic Thunder". You be the judge.
These pics are much appreciated. I'm torn between Vicenza and black CXL, but I think now I'll have to support the good old USA and go with CXL. Do you think I would get more of a teacore effect with regular CXL or the tumbled version? Thanks in advance!
What a beauty. I had a disappointing Thedi experience, but I think that was just down to me not being firm enough with what I wanted. This jacket is making me want to scratch that itch again.
