Johnson leather Horween 6oz cxl overdye D-pocket and 4.5 -5oz CXL natural LeatherTogs project

From time to time I search the web for a really cool zipper pull. It's hard to find a really good one. Most look really cheap and cheesy, especially the way the attach to the zipper. Usually a big gaudy clip that is bigger than the ornament itself. A while back, I had the perfect main zipper...

Johnson leather Horween 6oz cxl overdye D-pocket and 4.5 -5oz CXL natural LeatherTogs project

Yeah, I would not try a DIY. It might be easier to attach a badass zipper pull like the battle axe @ton312 had on one of his jackets.

Johnson leather Horween 6oz cxl overdye D-pocket and 4.5 -5oz CXL natural LeatherTogs project

Thanks Navetsea. The pic helps out. I was thinking the main zipper pull would be easier to change slider and all. The tricky ones are the pocket zips.

Johnson leather Horween 6oz cxl overdye D-pocket and 4.5 -5oz CXL natural LeatherTogs project

I was actually wondering that same exact thing. How hard would it be to just change the pull? Would it be easier to change the slider AND pull? How hard is it to change a pull on a pocket zip? I have a cross zip jacket and the zipper pulls are generic, run of the mill, YKK. I am thinking a nice...

Going to Get Jacket Sleeves Tapered

Unless you ride a motorcycle, I would leave them alone. If you use the jacket for riding, I might consider risking an alteration. They "look" fine and comfortable for casual wear. They would not "function" very well for M/C use.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I know perfectos don't get recognized as an actual M/C jacket, but my 618 actually worked pretty well for me on the bike. Very easy to wear and checked MOST(not all) of the boxes. It was my go-to jacket for quite awhile. @JMax, I am sure I will eventually head down the CR road one day.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

@Monitor, That 613 looks awesome. Hard to top the original. I am gonna have to get another one. I haven't wore my 618hh in quite awhile. I lost a few lbs. and the 48 is kinda big. I am gonna go for a 46 or possibly a 44 this fall/early winter. I think Schott has a "black Friday" sale, but I am...

    EBay arghh!! ##$&&

@Monitor, Glad to hear you got your money back. What a bunch of bs you had to go through just to get your stinking 90 bucks back. I have never bought or sold on ebay. was thinking about selling a few jackets that don't fit anymore. Not really looking forward to dealing with all the ebay drama.

Schott 50's one star from ebay, could use advices on this problem

RockSolid asked for serious advise. The Hells Angels are very serious about their patch. Why pay 2k and ask for a potentially very serious problem. Club politics aside, how serious would a grown man look in a FAKE Hells Angels jacket?

Schott 50's one star from ebay, could use advices on this problem

I am sure the European chapters TCB also. It's easy to tell the guy to keep the jacket. Nothing to worry about. Just sue them if they knock your teeth out and take your jacket. Let's get serious.

With all due respect, you can't be serious?

Schott 50's one star from ebay, could use advices on this problem

I would strongly urge you to return the jacket or fully remove the FAKE HA writing. It is 100% fake. Like Carlos said, that makes it worse. I would not play around with it. It will NOT turn out well if the wrong person sees it. Save yourself from a very bad situation. If you wear it out in...

Johnson leather Horween 6oz cxl overdye D-pocket and 4.5 -5oz CXL natural LeatherTogs project

@Hh121, just a quick question. Would you say the overdye "repels" water like a Vanson or Lost Worlds, or does it tend to soak it up more?

Johnson leather Horween 6oz cxl overdye D-pocket and 4.5 -5oz CXL natural LeatherTogs project

JL has no fear. They will take on all customs. A real pleasure to work with. I really enjoyed their 3.5oz police leather. Almost went with it again for this build. I am curious how the overdye will age. I really like a more shiny black leather. The overdye appears to be a little more...

Johnson leather Horween 6oz cxl overdye D-pocket and 4.5 -5oz CXL natural LeatherTogs project

I am actually starting my custom "perfecto" order with JL. I have never handled a jacket in the overdye. My jacket from them was the "police" leather. I thought the overdye was stiff and took some time to break in. I don't think I have seen a jacket with any brown showing thru. I am very curious...
