^aaahhhwwww yyyeeeaaaa! Looks great! Love the solo seat look.
I only had 1 experience with a naked hide. I had a Fox Creek vest. I never treated it or conditioned it with anything. It really soaked up the water and took forever to dry out. Plus the sun faded the black to a grey. I probably...
Me too Jin. Hopefully the black overdye arrives soon.
I've never seen any samples of their brown leather. I am not a big fan of naked leather, especially for a riding jacket. JMO. I'm sure you can't go wrong with Horween. Either way, you should rock it. You have your fit and measurements...
Perfect fit Hog!! Looks spot on for you. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how well these work as actual riding jackets. It should keep the cool mountain drafts out. The Schott 618/613 is the "blue collar worker" of riding jackets. They get the job done. I have yet to try the steer. Once...
I did and I also received an answer from the Schott staff. I guess they get their hh from an Italian tannery, hence the "made in USA from imported materials" tag. I was under the impression, they always got their horse from Italy. They get their steerhide from the States and their steerhide...
I have found some really cool "necklace pendants" that would make kick a$$ zipper pulls. I am not sure what the safest/most secure way to attach the "pendant" to the zipper. I would hate to lose a "charm" because of the way it was attached.
^ I vote silver all the way. Just my opinion. I thought about getting the stars for my 618 also. I have to see where my weight takes me(hopefully not back up). I might get a 44 if I can hold this weight. I would get the stars and a snap for the buckle. Then send it to Dena for some customizing.
We need more pics of your jacket as it breaks in and gets more pins. I think the shiny leather and hardware give it the ultimate rock 'n roll edge/attitude.
@dannyk, I agree with almost everything you said. You are on the money. Except for a few things.
Definitely thinner for sure, but I am not sure about the word much.
I respectfully disagree. Thick "enough" leather, FULL action back, underarm footballs, #10 main zip, shorter front length, longer...
I am no expert J, but I think you would rock a 42. You are a physically fit guy, I would go with actual size, or you might possibly size down for a true MC fit. I lost some weight and had a chest size of about 44 1/2". I went with a 46, plenty of room. I will see if any weight comes back, if...
For sure Monitor. I have some "before" pics on the 30 day challenge thread. I will wear the jacket all day so it forms to my body. I am sure the Schott can handle a little water.
If a motorcycle jacket can't handle a little water, than it is NOT a true motorcycle jacket!
@Downunder G Man, My first 618 was about 3 years old and was my "go-to" riding jacket. That thing was like butter. Very easy to wear. Hopefully this one gets there.
I don't remember my first 618 being this resilient. I have been doing the @navetsea challenge and there has been little change than when I first got it. I decided to dunk it in cold water and see if that makes a difference. I then put the 35lbs jacket in the drier on "air fluff" for about a half...
I am assuming that is a repair job on the collar. Very interesting repair if that is the case. Usually collars wear out first. Could bring back older jackets to their glory days. I like it. Jacket looks awesome.
Just my weekly check in. Still going strong. This 618 does not want to yield. It is putting up a serious fight. I thought it was going to be a cake walk. I think I am going for the dunk tomorrow before the Browns game. I took a few more pics this time. They will be my "before" pics. Tomorrow...
My Vanson model "E", and Johnson leather have the quilted lining in the sleeves. My Schott 618 does not. I don't think it makes a huge difference, myself, in regards to warmth. I guess I would rather have it than not. Both quilt linings I have are rather thin and I don't believe it makes the...
