Quake,
Couple questions:
Does the Cossack have the same length for front and back?
What is the sleeve length? Did you specify?
Are the cuffs fairly comfortable buttoned? Room to wear a watch ?
Thanks,
H
Outstanding jacket, Quake. Jan has incredible taste and is such a resource.
Question: How did you decide between the 1930's Half Belt and the Cossack? For that matter, what are the main differences between the two models? At a glance I see the Cossack seems to be a less trim fit maybe...
I am going through Amanda in Scotland. I will be reproducing closely the recent Jacket of JanSolo. He has been terrific in helping me with nailing down the details....to the point that I think I scared him off (...sorry Jan)!! But this is my first Aero and doing things mail order (and being an...
That is what I was thinking. I am ordering an Aero 1930's Halfbelt in Goatskin and was wondering if the sleeve length would *shrink* at all over time. I don't want the button cuff to hang too low and impede wrist motion.

I hate to speak of generalities.......but "in general", where would one desire the sleeve of a leather jacket to end?
I have heard things such as "at the first knuckle of the thumb".....? I am speaking in particular of many of the fine leathers we see in this forum, such as the Aero...
I found my father's G-1 from his flying days. He was a Navy pilot and flew the P-3 Orion. He flew in the 60's to mid 70's. Patrol Squadron 47 (VP-47). The jacket is from when he was a "LT". I will take some pictures but the label says:
JACKET, FLYING, MAN"S
INTERMEDIATE, TYPE G-1

Jan,
Do you recall your specified arm and body lengths?
Amanda states the standard body is 25" back/26.5" front, standard sleeve is 25-25.5".
Thanks,
H
Greetings,
Continuing to read posts and look at photos.....
Can someone explain to me the deal with the "yoke"??
It appears to me from looking @ Mark Moye's picture trail that many styles I am considering....highwayman, 30's or 50's halfbelt, cossack...do not primarily come with a yoked...
Jan,
A couple questions on your specs:
#1: "Front and back must have the same length"
Can you share your experience in front vs. back length. What motivated you to choose this option versus front longer "x inch", back longer "y inch"?
#2: "Double leather (leather lined) button cuffs"...
Greetings!
After reading all the great posts and trying to decide on my first jacket, I often see folks specify in their order "front vs. back length"?? Sometimes it is "sloping", sometimes it is "Back 2 inch longer".....most recently in Jan's 30's HB it was "front and back same length"...
