I like my Stetson Roadster hat in Royal Deluxe so much that I just picked up a 2nd one. LOL This time, I'm thinking of replacing the leather hatband with a thin ribbon along the lines of the Open Road or Stratoliner. All my searches for "how to install or replace ribbons" turn up instructions... -

Akubra Overload
All the Akubra hat's have piano wire in the Reed. My hunch is that it's there to help maintain shape. I've removed the wire from all of mine. It seems to help with the hat confirming to my head shape. If you separate the leather in the band slightly near the back. You'll find a brass... -
Stetson Dune Model
I'm currently on the fence as whether or not the Dune is too western looking for me. What I really want is a non cowboy looking hat with close to a 3 inch brim. If I do pull the trigger and buy the Dune. I'm thinking about removing the leather hat band and putting a grosgrain hatband on it... -
