I'm really enjoying this Borsalino, so much so that I wore it again today to a business meeting in a swanky hotel in town.
The felt is soft, yet keeps its shape, light but dense, perhaps the seller was right that it is 1960s or 70s. Given that the extensive thread on identifying the age...
Meant to write "aloha" shirt, but autocorrect defeated me. Then saw the guayavera and it was simply "beyond" as a friend of mine used to say. Is it a light green?

Borsalino Qualita Superiore
Super pliable grey felt, stitched liner. Picture colour not great. 4 stars in the front of the sweat and marked Sools so for France (and bought in France). 5.5" open crown, 2.5" over-welt brim, 2 inch black ribbon and a wind trolley missing the button.

I forgot to add one: "I need to fill the void since you made me give up my unicorn collection". She said "you don't have one!" So I responded "exactly...". Then bought another hat.

This is intended to be light hearted as to how you justify taking over rooms in your home to fill with hats, or how you justify that you need another hat when you already have one to cover every day of the month in the face of your other half's querying or quarrelsome look when s/he texts you...
I think I am going to start a separate topic "Schemes you use to justify your expanding hat collection to your other half" so as to free up this thread.
I have taken to selling (or saying I am selling) my stingy brim hats (a hat is a hat at this stage, but I think she is getting wise to the brim distinction).
You just gave me the idea to tell my sales colleagues to stop trying all these fancy sales tactics and just tell potential customers "LIKE IT? BUY IT!" [emoji38]
OK, ok, I will sort it out, thanks for the advice!
Same colour but the Borso has an overwelt and the sub-Borsa is raw edge but NOS. I am actually embarrassed at my inability to decide just in case there is another hat waiting around the corner ...
Borso
Sun-brand Borso NOS
They look rather similar...
So this one is a Borsalino sub-brand "Linea Augusta" vs your "pure" Borsalino. I like the form but it is quite similar to the Borsa I am waiting for hence my hesitation. Having trouble posting pictures at the moment.
I've come across a NOS Borsalino sub-brand for about €/$100. It is from the 1980's "but" has a glued liner. 5+inch crown and 2.5 inch brim. Should I get it for that price (or save my money for something else). I have another Borsalino on the way but mebbe you can never have enough?
