What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

I think you are right. I just explained to my daughter that the bow is on the opposite side for women (it is one of my wife's hats). She was modelling on my hats I guess. Interesting she noticed that.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Fellow Loungers As I could not find a thread for "does this lid suit me", I am posting here the ultimate mirror to simultaneously check from all angles. Had I not been so bedazzled by this wonderful reflective contraption, I would not have accidentally walked out of the house with my...

    Sprezzatura vs trying too hard.

I just choked on my coffee, thank you for starting my day with a smile. The second photo looks like a plea for help from a man drowning in the other guys jacket. Or maybe he's just waving "hello"? [emoji23] By the way, isn't wearing a hat well, so that it casually blends in with ones overall...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

May I enquire as to the height of the crown? Beautiful piece.

Hard to tell if it's a legit Strat as the paper label says "Premier Stratoliner" but sweatband says "Royal Deluxe" - is that the same??

If you're not my size, I will tell you ... or just search on the auction site. I am living "dangerously" as I should just BIN in case someone else gets it. Or maybe there is something wrong with it?

I realise from a thread you started on Stetson Strat and CD's that we are having similar conversations / thoughts which may have caused some confusion, my apologies!

Yes, it was me, sorry for the confusion and delay (I was asleep, morning here now). It is clearance on auction site in my size and just a little more than a CD, not same price as I said. Am still trying to justify this given shipping and import duties . Need coffee now.

Photographs Of Hats Fresh From Surviving The Elements

I would much have preferred not to get it (that hat) that soaked, but hiding under a tree was not making much difference so I just dashed for the station. And despite living in England, I am not a fan of umbrellas.

    I love the Fed IV!!

I keep oscillating. I really like a bound, cupped / flanged brim which does not quite work on a dimensional. I am not going for the famous movie explorer look. Having said that, I got totally soaked twice last week and whilst the Penneys Marathon withstood (would still have preferred not to...

Fair point; I am looking for a general all around casual or semi-dress that I can wear out and about. The Stetson is new, stock clearance open crown and discounted to same price as a CD. I don't want to worry about the hat (as it is not vintage), and can wear on work trips (I travel a lot short...

Funnily enough, I have seen a modern Premier Strat (2nd hand, good apparent condition) for about the same price as a CD. I have not nor practically can I handle them so what would be your choice if choosing just one?

    Sourcing Hat Blocks

The shipping prices - and import duties make a big difference - probably the main thing that has stopped me emptying my wallet. I would prefer to buy one block which I can use repeatedly, to start the learning. I would be ok with the reverse taper, but perhaps not for every hat. But now...

    Alley Kat Hat Co

Thank you for this, very very helpful. I may have found a block, so will go 1/4" up from my size and trying to grab band block. Also following IG "breadcrumbs". Looking forward to flange.

Adjustable band blocks Whilst I am on this page, more questions: I do not have a band block in my size, but have seen an adjustable band block with wood all the way around, just split in two (front half/back half). This one is in my size or slightly big (it is a 7 1/8 US and I am probably...
