Buzz Rickson's 55J14 Pritzker G-1 in size 36. Arguably the goatskin leather is not as nice as Buzz's own WW2-era USN styles (which tend to be long and loose), but the Pritzker fits much better than those jackets and the 36/38-but-measures-like-a-34 Aeros I had in 2020.
Nabbed a Buzz Rickson B-10 "Test Sample" (some sort of hybrid between a B-10 and a Navy jacket) in size 38. I'm a size 36 with a single layer and a 38 with a thick sweater on, so I think choosing the 38 was the right decision since there's no tightness issues. It's pretty lightweight compared to...
I've gotten one in Vicenza horsehide and also with the double knitted A-2 seal brown knits (the latter for durability concerns) so it's definitely possible
My first Aero was in goatskin and the second in dark seal brown Vicenza. I prefer the Vicenza for the following:
- the finish has a great dark-brown-black-mid-brown color variation depending on the ambient lighting; in comparison, I felt that goatskin had a flatter/duller finish that doesn't...
The Ostmann jacket is here
Sleeves are pretty tight so it'll preclude wearing a sweater, and it actually looks better to me unzipped than zipped so let's see how it'll be broken in...
Got a Larrivée D-03R and a Godin Kingpin II archtop myself. Started in summer 2019, stopped playing until around June of this year and have been at it since then. Mostly been focusing on covers of Russian songs but I do plan on getting into blues and jazz in the near future...gotta get that...
HPA shipped the Eastman Ostmann in black I ordered back in January... Currently it's stuck in a warehouse in Ontario since Oct 3. Most expensive I've spent on a leather jacket and my first go at a non-knit cuffs and waistband style
I'm pretty sure they did. In Nov 2020 I paid £47.50 for the Bond disregarding shipping and the Black Friday discount.
P.S. and looking at the 1945 product page in December last year via the Wayback Machine, it was £41.25 and now it's £49.50!
Yeah of course. I'm not sure how fast buffalo wears but I heard it's similar to goatskin. As a preview here's the zipper pull, which shows a core layer that looks brighter than the suede side
As for the drill lining, my experience with rayon was in a U.S. Authentic A-2 I ordered a year and a half ago, which felt pretty flimsy and I wasn't convinced at the time of ordering that Five Star's wine satin polyester would be different. Now that I'm proven wrong, I definitely wished I'd...
Okay, my customized buffalo AN-6552 is here and here are my thoughts, with some photos (sorry no fit pics!)...
- The initial leather smell is reminiscent of cigarettes and tires and I hope it'll fade to something more "leathery".
- The seal buffalo feels nice and grainy; it's as flexible as...
I ordered it in 1.3mm as well; I really liked the thickness (feels like 1.5mm!) and grain texture on Aero's goatskin, took a look at MoFo's A-2 and it looks like buffalo might fit the bill. Shawn said that hide was stiffer than goat but still very supple.
Put in an order for a customized AN-6552 in that new seal brown buffalo...my Aero jacket from last year got too small thanks to exercise and Shawn's willingness to take custom measurements is a real advantage. This time I'm using the measurements of a size 38 Buzz Rickson (albeit with narrower...
Hey, I actually ordered this pair during last year's Black Friday sale, and then both me and Baker Boots forgot about it until I asked for an update at the end of July (practical wait of 6 weeks). You might be looking at a longer wait, as my situation was special enough to skip the queue.
Brand new pair of White's Bounty Hunters in brown dress and made with the slimmer 5050 last...trying to break them in at home as much as possible on my day off
I'm thinking of doing a remake on an Aero U.S. Navy jacket, this time in Dark Seal Vincenza, but I'm not sure if I should keep the mouton collar dark brown as standard, or do a contrast collar in rust, natural, or even Irvin...what do you guys think?
