Preview: Buzz Rickson's Space Program L-2B

Same here...would love to see pics of the original jacket. I was under the impression these jackets had orange liners and a lighter coloured zipper tape too. Looks cool tho!

Real McCoy's not expensive enough for you? Try this...

I saw this in person when I visited the store in London last year. It's simply exquisite - although I could never pull it off. Wear it with pride! :D

USAF N-3B parkas - Let's talk about them!!

Strangely, I'm 6 foot 3 and I found the '60 Skyline N3B I purchased to fit fine length wise. That was in a size XL. Although it was too big, the width of the shoulders (raglan construction too) made the sleeves fine. Perhaps difference contracts vary in terms of length though?

WTB: B-15C / D, size 44/46 - Alpha Replica Series, Buzz Ricksons etc

Hi all, If anybody has a B-15C or B-15D variant - i.e. the nylon ones - in a larger size, let me know. The Alpha Replica series are of particular interest. Unfortunately I've been pipped to the post in a few recent auctions on these, so maybe someone on here purchased them and wants to move...

Real McCoy's not expensive enough for you? Try this...

Gentlemen, I have made a shocking discovery. For years, we have been berated by friends and family for spending "like, way too much money" on "stupid jackets". But we knew the quality. We knew the love and attention to detail that went into every piece. It was worth it to us. We love our...

    My Buzz Rickson’s B-15D (1952 model) Jacket

@Stand By you are one lucky, lucky sod! Sensational looking jacket. I want one of these so badly, but I've just bought the BR L-2, so it'll have to wait. Sage green - proper sage green, not Alpha's version - is a beautiful colour, somewhere between green and grey in person. I absolutely love...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

My brand new Buzz Rickson's (American Pad & Textile Company) L-2 arrived today, and it's awesome. Absolutely love it. At 6 foot 3, this is pretty much the perfect fit on me. I've been searching for the perfect nylon bomber for a while and this is pretty much it! I will post a full review in the...

Current Alpha Industries MA-1 "Classic" Review

Indeed, the fit was dictated by the original purpose and accompanying items. This is most obvious with jackets that had no accompanying trousers - i.e, the G-1, B-6 etc. Much longer and easier to wear. The bomber jacket styles (MA-1, B15 etc) are certainly not baggy in the slightest - this must...

    Famous People in Flight Jackets

Even as a civilian, he still looks cool in that outfit. You could wear that today and not look out of place! There's a certain irony that these same pieces of cheap, reliable military outerwear that folks wore to be almost anti fashion have now become the preserve of wealthy Japanese collectors...

    MA-1 Flight jacket

I'm still searching for a decent level MA-1 that has some resemblance to the original...is heavy sage green nylon and grey knits too much to ask for? :) Here is a pretty cool variant on the MA-1 by Abercrombie & Fitch. Not a full repro - it's cotton rather than nylon - but I rather like it. The...

Current Alpha Industries MA-1 "Classic" Review

Ahh - I meant a slender fit in an XXXL would be perfect for me. As it stands, a regular fit XXL would be a good fit for me but nobody in the UK stocks them sadly.

Current Alpha Industries MA-1 "Classic" Review

Okay, the story continues... As it turned out, Eastman sadly did not have any of the standard fit Lion Uniform MA-1's left - unfortunately, this was an error on their website. They did have the slender fit MA-1 left, so I tried that and it arrived today. Firstly, this is an insanely beautiful...

Alpha b-15: What a waste of time, energy, and money

Link? I'll have a look and ask the seller too for measurements. Maybe if he gets enough requests he'll actually reply to you!

Current Alpha Industries MA-1 "Classic" Review

Well, I ordered my brand new Buzz Ricksons MA-1 today. Hurrah. Delighted at the fact I will be receiving a high quality jacket, I go out to meet my girlfriend for lunch in a great mood. As I park my car up, a sudden gust of wind catches my door and sends it slamming into the car parked next to...

Current Alpha Industries MA-1 "Classic" Review

Soldier of Fortune confirmed to me today that the "2015 Green" Alpha MA-1 on their website with grey knits is simply an old photograph, which is a shame. The ones they have are the same ones I received, with the green knits. Had a great phone call with Eastman today, who were absolutely...

Current Alpha Industries MA-1 "Classic" Review

Here is the size large Alpha - I exchanged it just to see what the smaller size was like. As expected, the fit is a lot better but it's not perfect. Quality of materials is still not good enough to me, so this is going back too. Strangely, it's much smaller than the XL - particularly on the...

Current Alpha Industries MA-1 "Classic" Review

I think so. I've emailed SOF to see if the jacket shown is actually the jacket you'd receive - I'm more hopeful than not, as they actually list the sage green/sage knits model that I received as a separate item altogether. We shall see. Part of me is heading towards splurging on a Buzz, though...
