    favorite perfume...

I love Ed Hardy "Born Wild" (it smells watermelon-y, which I LOVE!) And Lady Gaga "Fame" (which smells grape-y). I love fruity scents.

Thinking about a tattoo, but is it what good girls did in the 1940's?

Another I got a few years ago: From this: I even went so far as to make the dress: I don't live in the 1940s and don't care to, hence my ink. I have no problem with anyone trying to be authentic, but it's just not for me :)

Thinking about a tattoo, but is it what good girls did in the 1940's?

I'm a legal assistant (on my way to becoming a paralegal), lover of vintage, and covered in tattoos. All my tattoos are vintage-oriented to reflect my interests. Here's one of my recent tattoos: It's Clara Bow. I have Jean Harlow on my other shin :)

    Writing / logos on clothing.

I have some workout clothing with a small "REI" or "Under Armor" logo on them, but I would never buy, say, a workout t-shirt with a huge "REI" logo across the chest. I mostly wear t-shirts with fun designs on them to workout -- like a skull and crossbones made entirely of puppies :) I make...

    Your ideal historical dinner party?

Clara Bow -- I need dirty jokes and someone on my very own low-brow level! Jean Harlow -- I'm sure she'd giggle, too. Elizabeth Bathory -- Most interesting mass murderer. She'd probably try to bathe in Clara and Jean's blood, though. I'd have to watch her. Oscar Wilde -- To insult everyone...

    Living a Ration Book Life

Could easily do all of this except for the gas and travel restrictions. I *loathe* clothes and shoe shopping so I wear everything I can until it falls apart. Even then I try to sew what I can and when it falls apart a second time, that is when I chuck it. I don't own a home so the home stuff...

When Was The Last Time You...

    1. Watched Over-The-Air television? Today. Getting rid of cable, though. It's really just a pile of garbage. Nothing even "so bad it's good." I just watch old movies on DVD or archive.org. 2. Used a Rotary Phone? Probably in the early 1990s. My grandmother had one forever. 3...

    Show us what you've made!

Last thing I made was this skirt (the gray one). I cut the pieces from a 1930s pattern and then just winged-it! Made it up as I went. I change out the buttons on the pockets depending on my mood/sweater!

What's in those cups? lol Bettie Page in 39/40 when she was just a "regular" gal. I love her style! 40s women. May have posted this before, but here it is again.... I *adore* this photo!! 1944.

What time period would you live in, and where, if you had to for one year?

1929-1930, right in my hometown in South Jersey. My life would not be anything amazing and I'd be working in a factory like all the rest of my family did, but I'd be movie-mad and I'd be diligently following this new thing called "The Talkies." Clara Bow and William Haines would have been my...

    Nutrition and exercise!

I started myfitnesspal on December 30 and so far I've lost 8 lbs (that I know of!) I weigh myself once a month and I seem to be losing a pound a week. It's amazing putting all your calories on paper (or Internet!) and seeing them. I can eat an entire healthy meal for 350 calories -- or one...

    Show Us Your Purchases!

Given to me by a friend who knew I LOVE it: Bought myself on Etsy. I don't have a single pointy-shouldered pattern: Haven't sewn anything substantial in AGES, either.

whats your favorite ethnic cuisines and whats the least liked ethnic cuisines?

I like Sushi and Vegan cuisine. I eat tofu like it's going out of style. I buy it at the grocery store and make it at home. Usually slathered in Lea & Perrins with brussells sprouts. German is the worst cuisine to my taste buds. I don't like anything overly meaty or carby or greasy (dislike...

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

Last night at a swing dance i got asked if I was a re-enactor...lol. I was wearing this: I don't think this outfit looks too "unordinary." Like, I think I could wear it out somewhere "normal" and blend in. I guess?
