@Will Zach Quite nice and excellent condition of a 70s jacket. Is it yours? Recently bought? The leather looks different to mine. Would be interesting to know in which price range Engelbert Vanek is as I have no clue.
Really nice Langlitz! I've never seen it before. Would be interesting if it is really 50+ years old and what Langlitz says about it. I've just realized that it would be a perfect fit for me!!!
I think these are very good ideas and could solve some of his potentially upcoming problems and could help him to keep the waiting times at a normal /acceptable level. Would be interesting to know how other hiqh quality brands like Thedi are handling this...perhaps Theodoros is doing some kind...
As he's a really nice guy I just hope that he will make right decisions at the right time and will not end up like JC - a couple of weeks ago I sent multiple e-mails to JC and tried to call him....no reaction at all till today (not a single e-mail explaining sorry, I don't take any new orders...
Companies with staff like Thedi are also raising their prices on a regular basis. Greg would be stupid if he would not do that as long as customers are willing to pay and as long as he doesn't have real competition in this "league"
I definitely agree but on the other hand companies like Thedi have also managed this for sure but a lot of training and talent is needed as well. I know Thedi started his business more than 40 years ago but upscaling to be capable to produce larger number of jacket happened probably in the last...
@JustinW OMG, I bet after posting another one or two modified nice jackets (plus the ones he already made and posted) he'll be at one year waiting time (I bet by Easter in two months). I'm sure he then would consider hiring new staff but training is time consuming, too unless new staff are...
@Jin431 I'm pretty sure that there will be many people interested in buying the same jacket you've just received granting you a discount on your next purchase would be just fair enough IMO. Btw. the FW Mulholland is no longer on my list unless I find a size 38 in very good condition at a...
@torfjord Thanks for sharing the information. I was just WhatsApping with Marc about a Grizzly which is second hand or of course if value for money (like 5Star) is good....good to know that there is a "low cost" option to try a Grizzly out!
Great idea. This leasing model already exists for other clothing and I think it can be adapted to high quality leather jackets (following link is only in German language): https://unown-fashion.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrcKuoo3z7gIVS_lRCh0KIwWtEAAYASAAEgIPJ_D_BwE
@ton312 I totally agree with @MrProper I make it the same way and sometimes after one year or longer when I come to the conclusion that I probably will never wear it for some reason I'm selling it but sometimes there is a revival as Mr Proper said.
@Jin431 That's such a beautiful leather jacket and the fit is perfect! Greg is getting better and better! IMO he should add all these modifications to his standard portfolio. If I hadn't enough black leather jackets in a similar style, I would contact Greg right away. Congrats!!
What a grain. The leather me of my SB Horween Bison I sold a couple of years ago....reason was as I couldn’t tame the thick and heavy almost 5oz beast.
@Angel Thank you for sharing details on your visit at EV! These small family run businesses (and friendly owners) should be more supported...hopefully they will change their business strategy after @monitor’s and red devil’s visit and will also re-enter the high quality Leather jacket business...
