That's the problem I feared. I don't know why the Japanese seem to increase the length so much on jackets in the 42 and up range. Otherwise, it's a lovely jacket.
To be fair, I have never analyzed Flat Head jackets nor really seen one in anything but pictures from online shops, so you may be right. I wasn't saying they are top level, just that others claim they are.
As for Y2, same scenario really. I would have to get my hands on one to see how it...
Why does the history matter? Many companies around the world do not divulge that type of information and if they do it's just a generic background. I understand we want some magical provenance from some guru in the world of leather sewing, but the truth is it's probably just "Soichiro liked...
It's ingrained in their culture that when they find a craft they put all their focus and energy on perfecting it. I have always envied that characteristic of their culture and you can see it in many Japanese products.
With that said, I couldn't justify spending so much on a Real McCoys or...
I have realized I have never posted my jacket here. It’s finally nearing the end of the extreme heat here so I can get back into my jackets.
Manhattan/modified J-24 with Leathertogs sleeves in Shinki teacore, brass hardware, Auld Locharron lining.
I think Greg nailed all the details I...
I couldn't agree more. Some cafe racers with the overly straight lines everywhere just look like straight jackets to me. You end up looking like a 2-dimensional caricature of yourself: stiff as a board and boring.
I'll take my wavy zipper all day over that.
I own a Relic Hunter from BK in the striated lamb. It's easily the best smelling jacket I have, which is saying something considering I also have a Thedi buffalo and Field Shinki. Construction-wise, it's perfect. Not a single flaw on the jacket and I can easily compare it to any brand jacket...
I see you're stealing my lining :)
j/k, this looks to be an amazing mockup. Which leather are you going with? After receiving the samples from Greg with my jacket I have to have something in the pony brown. It's fantastic. Then again, I am also contemplating a two-tone using the natural...
Sorry for the late reply! I was away from the forums since summer because it was so hot here I couldn’t even think of a jacket, let alone wear one.
Yes, I got mine back in May and I absolutely love it. Amazing leather, fit, craftsmanship, and materials. I highly recommend this jacket if you...
No. This is the first shinki brown that Greg offered when he launched. I’m told he hasn’t ordered it again as he had a hard time matching up panels as it had a lot of variation.
Yea, that’s a shame. I would like to see it in full sun/ better daylight pics, but it does look like a nice shade. The “caffe” Buffalo color looks to be somewhat close perhaps. That’s a possible color I would next be interested in.
