Wow guys!! I have really enjoyed seeing and reading about these amazing hats in this thread over the last few months. Too many to single out. Just know that I express my greatest thanks for the opportunity to see so many hats that one rarely gets to see. Thanks guys, Dennis
This sounds like a great hat. If you wanted to post an outdoors picture, I wouldn't look away :) I am a big fan of Optimo long hairs. I'd love to see more of the blue. It looks like you have nailed it when it comes to brim and crown size. Congrats.
I want to thank you and Steve and all of the many others for sharing these pieces of history. This information helps me to develop a better appreciation for our beloved fedoras. Only on F.L. can I get eye candy with the history. Thank you so much.
Daniele, I really like this hat. Grey goes with everything, and the long hair really adds distinction. I could definitely see myself wearing such a hat. Congratulations on the great find.
Steve, I have a special place in my heart for Velour and long hairs. It's not often I see this color in velour. You have a great ability of bringing forward some of Germany's best. Great find. Thanks for sharing.
I do miss the hills of The Green Mountain State. I prefer the warmth though. I took a break from Fedoras for several years when I moved to Florida. Sometimes it is too hot for Fedoras here. So, I am enjoying the cooler weather here and getting some nice hat time. Mostly, I miss my daughter and...
I am looking for another site that I might buy new Borsalino's from. Delmonico and Hollandhats are great but I want to explore more Borsalinos for sale. Maybe there are no other models available? Overseas ok. Long hairs, etc. I am not getting a sense that I am seeing all that Borsalino has to...
Thanks for sharing a pic of the Balmoral. It really does look great on you. I have wondered what it would look like on someone. I have been wanting one for the Florida sun and sea. Unfortunately, I have a crooked head and am forced to reshape all off-the-shelf hats, bummer. They all point the...
There ya go. Some hats are best left alone, some hats can benefit from minor or major renovations. I agree, it's You that has to wear it. I have been thinking of adding a custom leather 1/2" or 3/4" hatband and a VERY small sparkle of a diamond (3-5mm) to one of my favorite Borsalinos. I know...
I can't tell you how much I like your hat. Every component is awesome. I'll bet it is light weight too. You would look great wearing this hat in ANY situation. Let me know if you find another one in 71/8. :) Good on ya mate.
Akubra "The Outback". This is a hat I have never seen before. (Not to be confused with the "akubra outback club"). I have found it for sale only in Germany (sold by some Australians there, super nice people to converse with). If someone knows of anyone else who sells it, please let me know. It...
