Here is my most recent bin lidder, it's a modern reproduction i got for peanuts, i'm not sure i liked the shape at first so i cut out the pointless plastic bit connected to the stud inside(i don't know why they add these, makes them harder to drape) then i ironed it to give it more volume. Its a...

Has anyone got a simon james cathcart cap?, they look pretty decent to me and much like the 30's caps you saw in Britain of the time, also what would be the best place to get vintage caps instead of reproductions? you see them on ebay from time to time but they are usually quite small, cheers.

A selection of caps from the TV programme all creatures great and small, set in 1930's to 50's Yorkshire. Does anyone know what kind of flat cap this one is below?, looks more bulbous then other caps, looks great.

Like the old fellas cap, looks a bit like a traditional 3 piece English cap perhaps, i have a few, they are my favourite cut of flat cap. This one is one of my favourites, a 58cm which is 2cm below my size but fits alright to be honest, has a few moth holes but i think they will be long gone...

Not a bad cap for 8 quid, doesn't look super modern, needed a wash though, smelt a bit like 50 year old sweat(us Yorkshiremen are not know to smile).

Anyone got an idea how old this cap i just bought is? seller is thinking it's 1960's, doesn't look particularly ultra modern, only cost me £8 so deal either way.

Cheers mate, it's the hat band around the hat what does that i think, if it didn't have the band it wouldn't stick out as much, i also i have a few english style ''bond'' caps what are pretty much like 30's caps but they look about the same size as they havent got the hat band.

Thoughts on this cap my mum made for me?, went for the smaller style what you started seeing somewhat more into the 40's and 50's but still not modern, it's probably not historically accurate but i think it fits the look and i think she did a decent job seeing as she's not an hatmaker. crown is...

Would make sense, one tattier/worn hat for work, one cleaner one for sunday best/going to the pub, same with the suits, one for work, one for occasions, seems thirties style caps were also worn all the way into the sixties as pictured below, one thing i also notice is how newsboy caps seemed to...
