I'm not sure how the customs parts works...I ordered through the LL web site from the US, and was invoiced via PayPal (something wasn't working on the site for a credit card payment at the time). There was one charge that included shipping, delivered via DHL.
As far as measurements, depends on...
Picked this jacket up in New York City a couple months ago from The Cast. They've been around since 2004 with the aim of keeping the rock and roll heritage of the Lower East Side alive and well. The jackets are made right there in the city. A cool shop with good people if you're ever in the...
I ordered a Cyclone last spring, and these are the measurements they asked for (and they provided short videos on the proper way to measure each):
Chest
Waist
Around Belt
Sleeve
Body Length
Bicep
Height
I am tall and slim, but broad shouldered, and was concerned about it being fitted in the...
I worked with Rip at LL and he guided me through sizing. I also wanted a fitted look, but he recommended going up from 38 to 40 (my chest is actually just about 40 so made sense). The arm holes work for me, but I'm a slim guy, at 6'1" and about 168 lbs. They lengthened the arms and body for my...
I posted in "What jacket are you wearing today" a few days ago:

...regarding veg tanned cow Cyclone I just received. If you follow the comment thread, I also wrote about the process, fit etc...
I really like the veg-tan finish. And from what I understand much more environmentally friendly than other tanning processes (if that's a consideration).
Thank you! The fit was my main concern. I thought I could wait until I had the chance to go to London but just couldn't :) I too had seen the Japanese "tight fit" LL's, and as a long slim person, didn't want a jacket that was too big in the body, or arms too short, but depends on your body type...
Yes have been seeing those a lot. One somewhat newer company that is trying to carry on the tradition in the USA is The Cast NYC. I met the owners a few years back and seem like good folks. Their jackets look really nice. Hoping to get out there and check them out in person, particularly the...
Ha ha yeah. On the left there is a snap on the underside of the lower collar you can use for the upper when zipped up, but none on the right! I don't often wear fully zipped up like that so not really a problem for me.
Thanks! Yeah I had been seeing a lot of photos of Japanese brands, and liked the fit. But of course that is how those brands fit well on a Japanese stature. Lewis has the same fit but tailored for my stature (tall, broad shoulders but slim body, and long ass monkey arms).
Thank you! Yeah, I looked at all the different leathers for a while and after seeing some pics and conversations about them, decided on the veg-tanned, and it looks great out of the box. Look forward to seeing it get better with age.
Thanks! I have a friend who just got a Schott (after waiting for years) and she loves it. I did consider them as well, and definitely one of the top brands in my mind.
Just received my Lewis Leathers Cyclone. Unfortunately just in time for the warm weather. Wearing it inside because I love it and it needs some loosening up. Pricey for sure (especially in veg tanned cow hide), but this is my first high end leather jacket (have had cheap ones) and went all out...
I have a Vanson I bought in the 1990's. It's a perforated cafe style jacket. I stopped riding by the end of the 90's so I didn't push it to the limits or anything, and it only got summer wear, but quality seemed very good. Amazing for riding on warm days. It would let the breeze right through...
