Please don’t take it the wrong way but I’d like to offer some defense for Aero here :) the cuff top stitch that Aero is showing is a very different seam. It has four layers of leather plus lining, the cuff (sleeve extension type) has three and no lining. Also when it’s put together, it’s laid...
Ton,
Ton you mean the slant chest pocket? it certain needs to move down a bit, i agree, sometimes this type of visual detail can only be apparent after you made the jacket...then, shoot! a long process. but duly noted!
I need to get a skiver, some seams was getting way too bulky. The waistband is a bit short but it’s what I had on hand. I liked the pattern, next one will be using better leather!
I need to seek my wife's permission to post a cross zip I made for her, it's obviously a man's pattern adjusted to her torso shape/length, and had some slight mismatch of lapel panels (next time this error will be corrected), and the leather is not very good (the thin version of the Schott HH)...

This great thread has thus far been pushed to six feet under. Here’s a new score, well, shelled out a lot of money but I think the leather condition is exceptional for its age. Front zip replaced obviously and shoddy lining job but it’s a very beefy jacket and fits me! This is the kind of double...
The spongy feel could be the breed/diet/sex/health of the animal, and tanning process as well as coating. Eastman’s older horsehide gets very spongy after broken in, but at first it was plasticky and stiff. But other hide like CXl never seem to get spongy, many after fifty years. Not an...
