    Himel Wolverine Grizzly Inbound!

Interesting. My Frobisher in size 38-39 has the chest pocket down at a bit more than 8" down from the shoulder seam. Measured straight up from the center of the pocket from the teeth. It is a bit higher, but I do like it. I'll post some photos of what it looks like during wear. Will probably be...

    Himel Wolverine Grizzly Inbound!

I don't personally use the zipper chest pockets. I find them a pain. I contemplated deleting the chest pocket on this Frobisher for 1/2 a second because I knew I wouldn't use it, but I came to my senses and kept the pocket because it looks better. It just completes the design. So for me, they...

Albert Richard Horsehide Half Belt Revisited

That looks incredible. And it's an actual 40s half belt! I think the fit is perfect. Good for the camera, even if it feels a bit snug when zipped.

Always safe with one chest pocket. Wherever it is, it's where it should be :)

    Himel Wolverine Grizzly Inbound!

Yes, he designed the pocket that high :) I noticed it when I was researching the jacket. Same on @Superfluous' jacket. I like it. Here's another example from his Facebook page. This Frobisher is in horsehide from Victoria tannery:

    Himel Wolverine Grizzly Inbound!

Prices are in line with the the leading makers of Shinki jackets. (Well, one master charges less, but arguably doesn't charge enough!) Now that Himel offers other leathers, it's easier see how much of the prices is owing to the costly Shinki leather. You can get a Frobisher in veg tanned goat...

    RRL Calfskin Moto Jacket

A few quick snaps of the RRL Calfskin Moto jacket. I went to my local RRL to try it on during the sale, but they didn’t have it in stock. It seemed like a long shot for me style-wise, but the recent cafecto thread really got me curious. So I bought it to try on. Overall, awesome jacket but 1)...

New (to me) Himel Bros/Goodwear Californian

I love that Ventura design, love the color. The leather looks really nice. You should have no problem getting those sleeves shorted by a custom leather jacket shop (around here, Johnson Leather does that kind of thing well).

    Himel Wolverine Grizzly Inbound!

I believe that's my Frobisher, @handymike! Tracking says it will be to me in SF on Tuesday. I ordered it in Shinki, oil tan medium brown, leather facings, brass hardware, khaki cotton twill lining...all those seem to check out. (A few other customizations not shown. I'll post the details.) I...

New Aero 1930s half belt with modified back in battered tan horsehide

Looks awesome @Mainspring! Love the color and the single action back. I have a similar style on the way in a similar color with pullup! The fit looks great. Enjoy!

A New Schott Model: The 603USA Cafecto

That (was?) and awesome jacket @Monitor! Speaking of cafecto, I was curious about this RRL "Calfskin Moto Jacket" "This jacket draws inspiration from a mix of motorcycle and aviation styles from the 1930s. Sourced from an Italian tannery, the vegetable-tanned calfskin has been lightly tumbled...

    NEW CALIFORNIAN VENTURA

This jacket is just stellar and fits and looks great on you @Fanch I would buy it immediately if that were possible in my size. I noticed there are a few different details from the usual Venturas John makes. This one has no wrist straps for a bit of a cleaner look (I like it both ways). The...

The Flat Head Cafe Racer Fit Opinions

I got some clarification from Himel. The "Medium Brown" above is semi-aniline w/ no pullup. The "Wax Medium Brown" above is the "wax oil finish" which has pullup. He often refers to this as just "oil tanned." The gentleman in the Canuck above is wearing the oil tanned wax pullup leather. This...

The Flat Head Cafe Racer Fit Opinions

Yeah, I'd be happy with either the waxed finished or non-waxed medium brown. It looks like most of the photos out there are of the waxed. Do you know if they are both semi-aniline? Is one an oil pullup vs the other a wax pullup? Or are they both "oil tanned" but one just has a wax finish? I...

The Flat Head Cafe Racer Fit Opinions

Choices aren't 100% finalized, but I'm going to go medium brown Shinki in either the regular or wax finished version. Any opinions on Himels medium brown vs waxed brown? Himel said the wax finish wears off faster, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I know what they look like in their initial...

The Flat Head Cafe Racer Fit Opinions

That's very good to know. I just noticed on the Good Wear sale page John is offering a DD J-100 based jacket, but with a bi-swing back for this very reason it seems: Yes, I'm probably agonizing too much over it. Very close to buying the Flat Head. But...Himel got back to me yesterday and I...
