Thanks Dr. D, the only one that's mine is the new Russet Bootlegger. The vintage Aero moto with the fur collar and other jackets in the older thread belong to others and helped with my design ideas.
I was going for a vintage inspired "aviator" style and Aero did just as I asked but yes, I am...

Here are the threads related to the bootlegger design process
I have always found this thread interesting because I don't ride and have worn leather jackets all my life including a couple of vintage Schott motos for the "punk" aspect in my younger days.
I still really like the look but with my current lifestyle I don't necessarily need to show the punk...
Not sure if its a blessing or a curse but unbrandeds cut is the best fitting jean i have found for my narrow ass.
I have a pair of the heavy weights and have had several others. I wanted a slim leg and actually bought a pair of skinnys 2 waist sizes larger than usual and it actually worked...
Smart move to start off with something affordable to confirm your sizing. If it fits you well you should measure it carefully off your body (there is likely a tutorial floating around here somewhere) and keep those measurements! Oh, and don't gain or lose weight...;)
Zipped to neck. The Vincenza hide is really amazing. It is supple yet heavy, the russet color is very rich with great character and depth. I am dreaming of a dark seal version with non contrast stiching...next time.
Aero wouldn't do the detachable collar (for the B.L. collar) so I bought some sheepskin and a piece of Vincenza and am working on having it made elsewhere.
Reviving the old thread to " close the loop" on the thought process behind the bootlegger. The Aero moto shown in this thread was a large part of the inspiration behind the russet choice as well as the sheepskin collar idea.
Thanks Worf, is the amazing Olive A1 yours?
Carlos, I did as you suggested and notice the difference today. Ive also worn it to work for 3 days straight now and it is definitely changing, softening up and molding to me a bit. The OP pics were the morning of day one and here is the end of...
Thanks Fanch it may come to that...
I have several cold weather coats my favorite being a ww2 era peacoat.
If i have it made Id like the fasteners to be discreet so that with the collar off it retains this look. We shall see.
Thanks Edward, no Thurston isnt doing the collar, I am sensing it may not be do able with this particular collar/lapel design but Im pretty determined to find a way even if it means prototyping something in fabric myself. Since Ive never done that I dont quite understand their reluctance...
