Fall-like weather has miraculously (freakishly?) returned to NYC, and so I broke out the Aero Vicenza Board Racer for its first public outing.
I'm still liking the fit in general, and the sleeves are developing nicely from a few days of indoor break-in.
The shoulder creases are... what they...
Thanks all for the feedback!
Leaning towards keeping the fit jacket. I'm going to check with Carrie to see what production times are for custom, but chances are i'll keep it.
Sitting down, the zipper hits right where my waist bends, with the flaps folding over. In a perfect world, I'd maybe...
Thanks all for the feedback! Good point about tucking in to see the belt line, realized afterwards the fit pics weren't the most useful in judging length.
Here are some updated ones!
I'm thinkin mayyybe an extra inch at the bottom, the zippers end a bit above the belt
A fit jacket for the Aero Board Racer recently arrived, and I wanted to get some thoughts on the overall fit. In general, I think the sizing is on point, but the length is something I'm wondering about.
Carrie over at Thurston mentions that they like the Board Racer a little shorter, but...
Not sure if corrected grain, here are closeups:
It's definitely thin, but the thickness feels even enough. I'd put it on the order of some of the thin lambskin you find on some jackets. It feels more fragile than some of my other jackets, as in I'd be worried about tears and punctures in...
Is 100 series the name for Schott's mid weight horse hide?
It did feel pretty nice in person. Smooth, soft and casual even off the rack, which fits the vibe of trucker jackets pretty well I think.
Popped by the NYC Schott store over the weekend, and tried on a new Type 2 horsehide jacket they had (P620H).
This is size M (I'm 6', ~175 pounds). Fits well, I think.
I do want to own a trucker style type 2 or 3 jacket at some point, but have been waffling on the fit. It's supposed to bit...
Took a chance on the Five Star horse hide, since I wanted something thinner for spring/fall, and a change from the thick horse hides I already have.
This is the seal brown horse hide. It's definitely thin, but drapes nicely for tshirt only wear.
Not much interesting going on in terms of color...
Vanson Gambler I picked up earlier this year from the Thurston sale section. Size 38 and measurements line up to my usual size in theory, but definitely slim in the this-is-only-going-with-a-t-shirt sort of way.
damn, the shoulder and p2p are perfect, just that 27.5 is an inch or so long but still verrrry tempting. you got some long arms my friend!
just checking, is the sleeve length measured straight down or curved with the sleeve?
This is the same jacket that @Bfd70 sold a few weeks ago in https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/iron-heart-ihj-54.103517/
After sitting and thinking about it for the past week, I've decided it's unfortunately just this side of too small for me to comfortably keep. I'd rather throw it back...
It was from here! https://straighttohellapparel.com/product/idol/
They only describe it as "Premium full grain buffalo napa leather is 1 – 2 mm thick". The thickness does appear to be there, and overall stitching has been solid, if not the spotlessly neat and tidy stitching that some of the...
Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been using this jacket as a sort of sizing benchmark, as it is pretty close in terms of what I want in terms of fit: slim enough to look fine with just a tshirt, can still zip up comfortably, and fit a thin midlayer for really chilly days.
I think it's...
