See Dinermans catch re. the size label pic :) PL 12/09)... . it's a J-27 as opposed to a PJ-27 with cuff straps added.
It could very well be a J-27 Style King with added cuff straps but most of the J-27M's I've seen didn't have the cuff straps and had zip cuffs. The model would be on the...
Awesome jacket ..... well done, superb fit and amazing condition .. 60 years old and still going strong ... hope I'm in as good nick when I'm 60 ! :D
Wear it well :D
The Buco two models which were very similar ( male and female ) .. and were only available in the mid-1950's ( from 1954 I believe ) - the female model was called the "J15 - Style Queen" and the male model the "J27 - Style King" it was not a Police jacket and as such did not have the badge...
Sloanie .. I don't think this is the Thurston Bros / Insurrection affiliate thread ( from the title) ..... I could be wrong ( I haven't had any direct interaction with the mods re. the affiliate thing) ... but that probably exempts it from the control !
I bought an Alpinestars " adaptation" of the J-27 ( it had elasticated leather sections in the waistband at the sides rather than the belt and two handwarmer piockets ... but other than that it was a very close representation ) in the early 80's ... it was a GREAT jacket to wear and the "chest...
I wouldn't discount some of the more common sellers :
Schott ( Ive had a 740N Peacoat for 15 plus years and it's a winter saviour and NEVER DATES :D)

Carrie ... did you get my PM about the Vanson Model A ??????
Interesting ........ thanks Holly, did the Ailee zippers preceed the big A zippers .... I was always of the belief that the Big "A" zippers came first ( from the knitting firm) and then the Ailee zips ???
i've also sent some pics to Steve and Will @ Alexanders to see if they have any further...
1st rule of Ebay .... bid what you're willing to pay .... a thing is only worth what it's worth. There is no "winning" or "losing" there's just buying or not buying ... so bid what YOU think it's worth TO YOU ( because no-one else really matters).
If I'm interested in what something will...
In originals yes .. but there are plenty more D-1 makers than B-6. The B-6 is a much more complex pattern ( bi-swing back etc.) ..... and as such fewer manufacturers ....
For a D-1 try ( price is indicated by the £ symbol .. the more the £ the more expensive) :
Aero £££
Alexanders ££...
Aero often have smaller sizes on their sale pages .... equally the B-6 is quite a rare beast and you might be better spreading your search to the D-1 as well ( which can be picked up new for around £5-600.
Sorry can't help further ... cheers
Both the Burgundy Clarks and Red Wings go very well with either Brown or Cordovan or Burgundy Leather ( my Burgundy AL Simmonds Billt is a perfect match) but it's also good with my Aero Brown HB Deluxe and LHB.
My general rule is brown and burgundy are interchangable ( jackets / shoes )...
