    shrinking aero anyone?

Aero Halfbelt Deluxe - 10 yrs old - brown FQHH They're a strange one on me .... if I lay any of my jackets flat ( Aero, Lost Worlds, Eastman , Alexanders or Schott ) I don't get anything like these diagonal creases .... I can't even replicate them without bending the jacket all out of...

    ANJ-4 jackets

Agreed Stearman .. and it explains the flaking. Although the Irvins were also coated with acrylic topcoat and they don't seem to have suffered at all. In addition, it doesn't explain the deterioration of the sheepskin.

    ANJ-4 jackets

I also think the tanning methods and quality of the US shearling was different to the British sheepskin used in the Irvins vs the B-3 / ANJ-4 / M445 etc. I am sure someone has researched this better than I but I seldom see the "sheepskin rot" issue with vintage Irvins ( perhaps it's tanning /...

    ANJ-4 jackets

I've had my eastman for 8 years and it's not been in any way fragile at all ... and easilly on a par with any shearling jacket. Granted it won't have the abrasion resistance of a FQHH jacket but the normal wear points are FQHH overlayed and I havn't noticed any considerable wear on mine at all...

    shrinking aero anyone?

For the record I've had in 15 years or so perhaps over 40 Aero's ( I know the exact number but it's a bit scary when I write it down ) :) ....... Across the history of their manufacture, there has been considerable variation in sizing ... older ones ( 80's and 90's) sized smaller / weirdly...

    Aero 1920s Work Coat

It doesn't look very simple at all Sloanie ... complex pleated back, button cufs, front yoke, rear curved yoke, double button halfbelt, double lipped pockets, wool lining, cotton sleeve ....... that's a very nice and very complex jacket as a work coat ... even compared to the relative...

    What hats with B-3 jacket?

Watch cap in either Olive or Black or brown works well.

    Aero Pre-War Irvin - Revisited

Nice ... I like the contrast facings ... my D-1 was seal with light russet facings and it's a great contrast. I always like my jackets a little looser than the std. TFL / Insurrection fit ... looks great WDW ... enjoy.

    Aero 1920s Work Coat

Nice ... how bulky does the leather over the melton wool feel WDW .... I'd imagine it's a muckle jacket :)

    Aero B-6

A B-3 would get you throuugh .. a B-6 wouldn't IMHO ( in Canada ) Don't discount the ANJ .. .the Eastman is a superb jacket and not at all bulky to wear .... :)

New (to me) Alexander Leathers Half Belt - your thoughts?

I do like slightly larger jackets than most loungers .. as many of my pics will testify. Sleeves, chest and shoulders all look great. Back length looks 1" - 2" shorter than I'd like but I have to say on you it looks great. Many on here ( perhaps the majority) like their jackets around the...

    Alexander Leathers Roadster Planning

Don't discount the Aero VDR ( Vest De Rallye) or the Alexanders Lavant .. both great jackets ( in fact today is a Black FQHH Lavant Day :D ) and perfect for the milder weather. enjoy the search :) :)

Anyone like the Alexander Leathers Gatsby?

Ah if only everyone liked the same jackets .. manufacturers could just make one ..... and we'd all have a very small collection :) I equally think it looks much better being modelle rather than sitting on a table being photographed. Not my cup of tea .... but then I hate A-2's with a...

Anyone like the Alexander Leathers Gatsby?

A really nicely fitting leather blazer is a great travel jacket ... really versatile ( trousers or jeans) and doesn't crease on planes, trains and Automobiles like a wool coat or suit jacket. I have a Black Suede Schott Blazer which I often wear when travelling instead of a sports jacket ...

    Aero B-6

I've had 2 Aero B-6's and on Eastman B-6 in the last few years .... all 44"'s. Height 5" 7.5" Weight 185 lbs wear a 42S suit jacket and would size myself as a 42" halfbelt, 44" A2 and a 40" Highwayman for a trimish FL type fit. I like a roomier fit than the typical FL fit hence why my...

Anyone like the Alexander Leathers Gatsby?

Reminds me of the Aero "Orleans" which I remember from 10 years or so ago. Lapls look very 80's but that can probably be remedied by request .... and I think the Orleans was missing the pocket flaps. Nice blazeresque leather jacket ..... need slightly wider lapels for me though.

New Lost Worlds Offering: Speed Demon

You can knock Stu's website, his sense of humour ( or not) and also some of his jackets are to a very different taste ... but the quality is second to none ( Ive had a few) and my oh my can he make a substantial jacket. I have a Suburban coming from the USA ( it's been in Houston for several...
