Bought this as a bit of a whim and I really like it - had one back in the 80's. This one is a bit classier with Melton Wool construction and Black Goat reinforcement. Two inner pockets and cotton drill lining. Size is a 42" with 1" off the arms and length.
Really nice and light to wear and...
Stunning jacket ( probably not to the FL liking as it's a bit badged and bling) ... mid weight steer. Really well made and great attention to detail.
Much "quieter" in the flesh and being worn than it appears and really neat fit ( will probably send it back for one size up or maybe some...
interesting opinion HD ... I struggle to see what innocence I'm proclaiming or indeed which house rules I've called into question ....... besides I thought I was on your ignore list ????
I don't see any evidence from any other manufacturer .... perhaps a little with regard to JC and Goodwear ..... but then only really in relation to A-2's. I've never seen a post re. "The Goodwear Fanboys", or the "Bill Kelso Fanboys" .. I have however seen many re " The Aero Fanboys"
I have...
I'm not sure what it gets us Seb ... Other than clarity, objectivity and a little bit of understanding.
In any case, I thought it a question worth asking, with no malice aforethought, I thought loyalty might be something people might want to declare and therefore that loyalty ( or bias could...
There are only 2 points in the OP
1. Affiliations should be clear and open ( carrie@insurrection ... There is no ambiguity here, no unintended or intended deceipt .... ) IMHO others have not been as open or clear ( some examples were quoted but by no means the full and extensive list) ... I...
but it's not fashion stuff, Corrected leather is actually one of their major products ( Footwear and "Football" leather) indeed Horween sells more "Top Grain" leather than it does "Full Grain" ( from what I have been told by Horween) .. and indeed many would atest that the shaving, sanding...
Not sure they are Cliff ... a number of manufacturers are using Corozo buttons ( although perhaps they don't openly advertise the fact) . As well as horn, shell and various other materials use in original vintage jackets. Equally many manufacturers ( Himmel Bros, Bill Kelso and many more) are...
Nonsense Sloanie .....
There is a 2000Te ( or some similar ridiculously high pressure number ) press on the top floor for hide correction at Horween used for the embossing of steerhide and horsehide for a variety of applications ( particularly American footballs) .... equally on the 2nd...
Perhaps a mistake Superfluous, and if so I apologise .... it's very difficult to identify those with a bias and those not ... without the clarity of openness. There are some which are openly gushing ( like Sloanie) who has written numerous articles related directly or indirectly to Aero and Ken...
Thanks WDW .. No baiting intended, I just think biases should be open, as oftentimes they actually hinder rather than help discussion and if the bias is known then it helps individuals balance opinions rather than assuming that all opinions are independent.
... Oh and thanks for the one star...
It seems to be an open secret , or even a secret society ( with top secret communication, pre-warnings about dealing with certain individuals etc. etc. ) .... And those who are tend to post their affiliation openly ( Sloanie, HD, WDW etc. etc. )
In the interests of fair and reasoned...
Hey guppy ... There looks to be something messed up in your pit-pit measurement as a 21" chest measurement puts this jacket as a 38" at best ?
On a std 42" highwayman the pit-pit is about 24" ( I just measured mine )
All other measurements are there or there abouts ( shoulder -shoulder is 19"...
I've had 2 or three in this type of leather ( an Indy and a highwayman from Aero and a drifter from Alexanders) all three I darkened with renapur with no ill effects and the resultant finish was really durable and highly resistant to wetting and staining.
Overall it's much closer to unbuckle...
