This morning on TCM, Night and the City. I have seen it numerous times but it is a nice little gritty flick with neat exterior shots of the world back then. :D
Kenneth Branagh’s version of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile. I am a big fan of David Suchet’s Poirot and was not able to get into Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express. Yet, I found Death on the Nile be pretty entertaining. I enjoyed Branagh’s version of Poirot as well as the visuals...
2jakes? I have not heard from him for quite a while. Nice guy. He had some health issues if I remember correctly. So many neat people missing from when I first joined back in 2009. Hopefully, all are doing well.
:D
A rainy day today so we’ve had The Andy Griffith Show and TCM on in the background. Watched most of The Asphalt Jungle and Kansas City Confidential. Nice way to spend the day.
:D
Last night, Cleaner, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Ed Harris, and Eva Mendes. It starts out pretty nicely, but starts to fall apart midway through. By the end, I was ready for it to be over.
:D
I agree, he does steal the show. He was also great in Support Your Local Sheriff. Jack Elam, James Garner, and Walter Brennan, no wonder it was so entertaining to me.
:D
The Wild North and Out of the Past on TCM. Both are entertaining for the scenery. Out of the Past is also an entertaining movie. It is a movie that I tend to stop and watch when I see that it is on.
:D
TCM on in the background this morning. Mother Nature is not sure if she wants it to rain or not, but either way it is perfect weather for a TCM and coffee morning.
:D
This was a film that as a kid I would confuse with El Dorado. The major characters seemed to mirror those of Rio Bravo. Robert Mitchum was the drunken sheriff, james Caan was the gunslinger, Arthur Hunnicut/Bull as the classic sidekick who while older than the rest was stiil effective and...
The French Connection
The thing that stands out the most to me in this movie is all of the garbage on the streets. Often times with older movies I find myself noticing the world or backgrounds in the films. It is a neat little peak into the world of yesteryear. Sadly, it is all of the trash...
Might not be known to many here, but Mark Lanegan passed away back on the 22nd of February. He was the lead singer for the Screaming Trees, sometime member of Queens of the Stone Age, and a successful solo artist.
