    Show us your Guns!

Spain and Star [and any other arms maker that wasn't already] produced weapons for one side or the other during WW2. Stars were popular as they were well made and reliable. A Nazi SS mark would have also been styled differently and had the "dirty bird" stamp as well. CDNN has magazines in stock...

The problem I would have with myself open carrying is that I don't want the criminals to know I am armed. If hunting that is different, just my two cents.

    Leather care for old briefcase

I was very pleasantly surprised at a newer product by Armor-all, wipes for leather and vinyl. Bought it to use on the car's seats and my leather work coats. I was so impressed I then tried it on an older leather briefcase I picked up and it worked very well. Easy to use and no mess at all.

    Question about fountain pens

hatguy, look for a Pelikan 150 or 215 on ebay. These are piston fillers that hold about a quart of ink. These are excellent pens, the "entry level" of Pelikans and will not disappoint.

A friend of mine just got a Remington R1 1911 in stainless and polished it up to look like nickel. Turned out nice and might be a starting point to consider.

    Question about fountain pens

And remember, everyone's hand and tastes are different. While many folks love the Safari, it doesn't fit my hand well. It is an excellent pen for most folks. I love the old Shaeffers, but the much less prestigious Esterbrooks are now my favorite vintage pens. Try them out and enjoy the experience.

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly..

Under the brutally ugly slam category, overheard in an Irish bar on St. Patrick's Day: "If I was the last man on earth, and you were the last woman, what do you think we would do?" "I'd become a lesbian."

    Mad clear through, dagnabbit!

Lost a faithful old friend today, a beat old old leather flat cap that has traveled many miles with me. Had a parolee that we had to arrest and he didn't like the idea. By the time we were done, he was in the back of my car, but my old hat hat wound up under the pile and before anyone noticed...
