They may have sold them, but BIg Smith was an actual workwear manufacturer not just a house brand.
You're probably thinking of Big Mac from JC Penney's.
I really like this blanket lined Big Smith, but it's a little big on me and I'm hoping I can find another that fits me better.
I don't know how old it is, I'm guessing 90's ?
It's in really good condition and I think I payed $50 for it, so maybe I can find another better fitting example for...
This 1977 Sew Sew m65 that my dad handed down to me was my favorite jacket when I was a kid, I loved it even more once I grew into it too.
It was my primary go-to mid weight jacket from age 12 all the way through my high school years, and it still fits me too.

Probably no jackets again for me till mid September, because it's already getting into the 90's.
Aside from maybe a couple hours on an occasional cool morning here and there ,because it's been in the 90's all week.
California likes to start summer early and end it late.
If I do need a jacket...
I am a bit more committed than a lot of people, because I missed out on the days when you didn't have to look for the domestically made products.
I've also gotten good at finding and keeping track of the American made products.
Back on topic, is there any make I should be looking out for (...
When there were plenty of these jobs here they had no trouble finding people willing to do them.
Once the number of jobs decreased so did the number of people who knew how or were willing to do them, now it's a circle.
The jobs aren't coming back if theres nobody to do them and nobody to do them...
