De-waxing a Filson Tin Cloth Cruiser

I'd have to go a custom build to get a dry finish cruiser in a tall which is 40% more than retail. That's over $300 bucks. I got this one for $100 bucks. Might as well have....a cheap dry finish jacket : )

De-waxing a Filson Tin Cloth Cruiser

I’m thinking of trying to de-wax a Filson Tin Cloth Cruiser and thought I’d solicit some advice ahead of time. I have several Filson waxed jackets but have recently moved to Southern California and it just doesn't rain much here. I’d like to enjoy one of my jackets without the weather proofing...

    Langlitz Cascade vs Crescent

You can't go wrong with the goat. I've got a small pile of it right here. It's great stuff.

    Langlitz Cascade vs Crescent

Perfect, you're in great hands with Scott and you'll have your jacket fairly soon after the fine tuning is done.

BTW, are you using this for riding? Most of the jackets on that Japanese site are more fashion over function. I like the design of some but would not want to wreck in one, unless it was a more purpose built bike jacket Langltiz offers. Scott at Langlitz can guide you expertly however.

use google translator to open the page and you can read the descriptions of the jacket builds. First one up is dark brown goat, the very last is, if I recall, black goat. There's one that's black goat after 5 years of wear too.

Man, hard call there...If you've got a LW Horeshide you might prefer the goat. It's certainly soft, thick, and extremely durable. The mid weight steer samplesI have I carried with me for months squeezing them with my hand in my pocket and even left them out in my yard for about 8 months to see...

I have about 15 samples from Langitz. It's all great stuff and the goats excellent. I like their cow too. It's true you can get cow anywhere but not in the grade they offer (light, heavy, and super heavy), and certainly not with the fit they can provide. I've decided I need at least three...

The Japanese market's a little different in their tastes at times. I was trying to show the breadth of what Langlitz can do and some of the collar configurations as well. I like this page because it explains the mods done to the jackets, the options and the weight of the hides used. Here's...

Time for another jacket - Aero, Langlitz or Vanson?

Neither of my Langlitz jacket orders exceeded $900. If I wreck, I'm not concerned about the jacket. Langlitz can repair it in a week. I'm more concerned withe getting the exact fit which is why I don't buy off the rack. I just can't find anything that fits perfect. If the jacket's too lose...

If you can communicate the ideas, they can build it. They're doing an offset zip on a dark blue goat hide bomber with black knits for me. Haven't decided on my second jacket but have already paid for both over a year ago and have absolutely no reservations about dealing with them for what I...

Here's a goldmine of fit pics for Langlitz jackets, including several of the above mentioned collar configurations. http://bikers-heaven-hollywood.com/page014.html

As the jacket breaks in the collar on this style of cascade folds back out instead of laying flat against the chest. This is one of the things I like most about it.

JACKET - TRACKIT (For members burning to get their ordered jacket on their back)

I've been taking notes, collecting samples, and communicating ideas to the good people who build these great jackets so my wait will continue but when it happens, and I'm in no hurry, it will be spot on. ;)

Thoughts on Oil Pull A2 Jacket Longevity

I think the sample I have from Amanda at Aero is the OP HH of which Jan is speaking. It's looked very much like FQHH with a slightly duller appearance. No suede at all. The sample I received was quite large so I cut it in half and nailed one half to my fence about 8 months ago to see how it...

Aged Tan Cafe Racer is here

I like the full action back on this build because of the functionality it gives to the design. It's my favorite feature of your jacket. To me it looks much better than with a plain back. I doubt I'd request any custom build without this feature.

    New Johnson Leather custom

Mine too....I've had a sample of that by my couch now for over a month. You'll definitely like it-heavy, beautiful shade, and something you'll likely not see anyone else wearing anytime soon.

Interesting size chart for stock Vanson and Schott jackets

I don't know why the focus is always on chest size for so many manufacturers. It's just one measurement out of 4 or 5 measurements that are all necessary in determining a proper size. If you long in the arms or torso, or short, there's a chance that you're going to be lacking and have to make...
