    A trip in the collection

I love seeing these kind of pictures, but I have to admit I look at them with mixed feelings. All at once I am in awe at the size and quality of your collection, admiration for your courage to let go of so many of your darlings and anxiety that I really should do the same thing and cut down a...

    Post New Hats Here!

That is a really cool find! Congrats, Jim. You should be able to get that brim to behave a little better with some work.

    Post New Hats Here!

Very cool find, Steve. Can't shed much light on the maker though. The only silk hat factory that has it's history halfway decently documented is Spoorenberg of Eindhoven. And they were certainly older than 1920. Wouldn't put it past them though to make hats under another brandname as they did...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

And that's just for the spot because the rather nice looking historic house will be demolished, so it really is location, location, location! I have a feeling though that the new owner doesn't have the same dress sense you do, Robert. Impeccable as aalways.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Good to see that's still an option, Steve. I'm thinking of going back to velours again right now! Very nice, Joe. A hat with presence.

    Italian makers trademarks

This week a hat turned up that has been made by Gerardo Riva of Monza (I have yet to take pictures). This had me looking into Riva as a maker. Well, he was. The (registered) trademarks with the names "Rival" and "Delione" start in 1938, with a renewal in 1947. The same brand names pop up in 1960...

    G.B.Borsalino Fu Lazzaro & C. <1936

This one went for far more than I'm comfortable with, but just to save it for posterity, here it is. So not my hat (alas). GB Borsalino fu Lazzaro bowler in grey. Size 57. Dang that is a fine bowler!

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

Not my hat, but worth posting for posterity because they rarely pop up. J. Heinr. Ita extra qualität fedora in a size 56. Listed as marine blue, but you wouldn't say that from the pictures.

    German & Austrian Hutmachers

It's a beauty. Not a surprise, as they were a straw hat manufacturer first and foremost.
