Great thread! The only thing I have to offer is:
Superfluous, you might consider swapping the 9th and 17th pairs of jeans, counting from the left, because of shade and gradient.......
^^^When I was a kid, we used to cast bullets for use in our 1911s. They were semi-wadcutters and the RCBS catalog listed them as a "Keith-type" bullet shape.
Edit: Sorry, this was in response to post #420
Nick, if I skimmed this thread correctly, you stated a perfect length is 25-25 1/4 inches, and that the Schott 118 is 25 inches. If this is the case give it a go. I have one and really enjoy it. It is quite soft and the hide feels rather thick. It is the kind of jacket one can toss on and then...
Great looking jacket. If it is indeed the Z150 leather, then it is made from a lighter weight material than is Vanson's heavy-weight competition leather.
It's really quite simple: go to "A1's" thread on his new jacket...his ONLY leather jacket....the one he wears everywhere...every time...for all events,errands and activities. Take a look at just how well it has aged, look at the patina and how the leather has molded to him.
Owning 16 jackets...
Good write up!
My experience with a Perfecto style jacket has been a bit different, though. I have found the lancer front to be one of the best-venting designs around. Worn with the lapels snapped down, the front scoops a good bit of air: with the front unzipped even more, the front allows...
Aero = Practical
ELC = Date Night
One thing to consider: if your wife had seen you only in the Aero, would she have felt it looked just fine? I'll bet so.
I think the jacket looks great. It could stand to be a bit longer...or not: sometimes the longer sleeves invite a host of whole new problems for the wearer. In my opinion, what you really need to do is put on the jacket and go chop wood for a couple or three hours. You'll be amazed at how well...
Depending on where one lives, the Double Mack cruiser might be a viable choice. This is what I have for the arctic climes of Oklahoma in the winter. Turning up the collar can really stop the cold winds from being a problem.
I call it my "great coat" even though it is much shorter than the real...
Most all law enforcement supply stores carry de-stinkyizers, intended for body armor, which is no small task. They work well and I've used them on jackets. Also, they are supposed to kill any still-living cooties lurking in the garment.
I've seen many original vintage moto jackets which feature gussetless zip sleeves. I've always assumed this was to make it easier for one to place a glove's (gauntlet) cuff inside the sleeve prior to sealing it up with the zipper.
