^^^^Be careful with this dangerous option, Edward. Carrie sends me a fit jacket in a similar style, just to, you know....check for size..., and I end up keeping it (because the damned thing fits well) AND still ordering the originally desired jacket. It's all really groovy and everything until...
b1If, I was told by Vanson that the plastic box, located at the bottom of the main zipper, was a more costly version of the zipper they use, and was sourced as such because it reduces the chance of inadvertently scratching the gas tank of a motorcycle. They also told me that in the unlikely...
Glad to see you're back, and in good health (now). I had blamed Fanch for your absence from the forum; no particular reason, other than he's a damn Texan, you know.......
Seriously, I've always enjoyed your posts and am glad you beat the worms and the Luddites.
That's the one I have, and wear it when tending the smokers in the back patio cooking area. It's probably more than 20 years old and is just plain comfy as well as being bulletproof. But if it is going to be hard to replace, I might just have to rethink wearing it for all the "crap" jobs its...
TXFlyGuy, I look forward to your impressions of this jacket, as I think we are about the same size. I really enjoy the Excelled A-2, in a size 38R, that you recommended to me some time back on that sale they offered; you were right about the size on that one for my size 40 frame, as they do run...
For both my wife and I, some of our favorite summer gloves are the BMW GS kangaroo ones, with some serious knuckle protection. They are quite tough (I've had a couple or three get-offs while off-roading) and very comfortable.
^^^ I really don't think it is so much a matter of people not caring about quality, as much as it is a situation where people simply have not been exposed to superior quality. They just don't know that there is better to be had than the ubiquitous cheap stuff.
The warmest non-electric gloves I've ever worn are Rukka winter gloves, the ones with the "dual chamber" interior. Plus, they have a whole bunch of protective features. The gloves feature serious gauntlets of sufficient length and with the ability to cinch down well.
The tradeoff is they have...
^^^Those higher-than-usual pocket placements on certain Filson jackets allow one to cradle a rifle/shotgun while keeping the hand in the pocket. At least on any of them in their "hunting" line. It can be a nice feature while strolling across a three acre field toward the blind.
I too purchased one of those cotton-poly MO jackets from Dillards, back in the early 80's. The little sales girl who helped me pick out a black one, was just getting ready to go on lunch break, so, you know......We've now been married for over 31 years. Still have the jacket(!) but only wear it...
I wouldn't. I believe that part of the reason the bat works is because it is rounded and will not "push" a sharp, flat edge into the leather. Not that one could shave with a rubber mallet, but the edge on most of mine seems too sharp for leather whacking.
