@wlsn thank you -- Cordovan is one of those unique, odd colors that I love and sometimes do not fully enjoy, all at the same time. On this jacket it's been wonderful.
Snowstorm coming tonight and for a few days. May get interesting for a while here and help out the drab background. Good time to put some hours on the Aero Ridley, trying to break this Cordovan Steerhide in a bit.
Locally-sourced Brooks Leather with Triumph Motorcycle pins. I like the details on this simple, lightweight jacket, but I like the fit even better. The arms are actually long enough!
Now it's off to the washing machine with on "delicate" with some free & clear detergent, to see if we can...
I owned on of these in 2001 - 2003; only difference was no center zip in the middle of the back.
Bought it new, sold to help fund graduate school. Very good, heavy jacket.
If it were not for the 24.5" sleeves and 22" pit to pit, I would have purchased this by now.
A few years back, I owned this oddly heavy Aero Bootlegger, that was somewhere between 9.5 - 10.5 lbs.

Here's the first time I sold it, better photos on this thread...
Maybe this would be to your liking...

I have also given up on finding that "Holy Grail"...
So I have never had one, but some in-person stores here in the US may still have this model new on their racks at a lower price. I recalled a place in Chicago where I tried on this and the straight-zip 689H last summer, and I believe they were still ~ $850 or so. Might check around for some...

Cannot believe how this price has shot up in the past few years...
To be honest, of my current fleet of only 4 jackets - either of the two Langlitz Columbia's would take the cake. The one still in the Queue for production, later in 2024 will hopefully be that 5-10-15 year jacket. To wear one is to understand it in my view.
I do have an Indian Ranger by Aero...
Looks fantastic! I also dig this combination and do something similar (but with more Australian style hats personally.) I have a couple hats, but nothing like the revolving door of jackets I have been blessed to try out.
@Aloysius -- Yes, it's long gone now, and it didn't cost all that much. It was a "fitting" jacket for someone who basically "dumped" his order after it was made. The fellow was apparently ~ 6' 9" tall or so. And for that size of person it would work. For me....no go. Impulse buy. Not...
Nate's make a good bomber-style jacket that is nearly indestructible. The one you listed here appears to be a one-owner with very little wear, so anyone looking for a WARM leather jacket that can take a lot, this is worth consideration.
I visited their shop a while back, it's now out in the...
I may be the odd man out here, but I started this journey buying primarily pre-loved jackets.
I still prefer them today. Once in a while I'll go for a new/custom/MTO but overall, I just enjoy the hunt and buy/sell via ebay & FL Classifieds. It's just a lot more fun and many very good/great...
JMax is right - just ask first about odor and possible stains. I had to sell one off due to a heavy smoke odor which I do not care for at all.
Leather looks great on this one and these jackets - when broken in as this one is, are Comfortable to wear. Just also be aware that many of the...
Here's a Gibson & Barnes - Labeled as "Flight Suits USA" - I've had a Gibson & Barnes Coronado and it gives Lost Worlds jackets a run for their money - at a fraction of the cost. This is a "44" and it's a beast -- $232 or offer and I am tempted...
