Thanks, the area I live has had over 25" of snow this week which is a record for a single week. Unlike Buffalo NY, or Houghton, MI we do not often see snows more than 1' at a time.
Now just deeply cold, the sun is out this morning and it's really quite nice, even if it's -15F (-26C)
I think there are better/safer ways to take care of this. Not worth the possible risk in my perspective.
How much are the threads sticking off the surface? Are they really that noticeable?
@iknowleather -- any thoughts you might have?
Not as great of photo here but it was a good morning for a Langlitz with layers underneath -- for a few minutes.
Now all Carhartt upper & lower and more snow coming in, along with more wind. 14"+ in the past 24 hours so the snowblower has had it's work cut out for it. Thankful to have one.
I certainly have both, and have had both types as well. My overall preference is brass these days (and bright, un-re-treated brass at that). Let time & use do it's natural ageing on it.
Had to post this Twinning jacket with the collar set free after it's wash treatment. Sadly, the mildew smell is just as strong as it was (hence the slight grimace with it on). As @ton312 indicated, we just had ~ 13-15" of snow here in Eastern Iowa, now the winds have picked up and we'll be -7F...
100% agree. If the seller wanted to "give" it to me I would send it to Johnson's to do a re-make.
However given his price adjustment, I seriously doubt there's any "giving" that away.
Well look what came back around again...the Snap Intensive Vintage jacket that needs a re-make. New price too...

Read of my experience with this jacket here...

Ha, I forgot this thread existed. I have a Freenote Cloth waxed cotton jacket that is lined and it's become one of the favorites for foul weather. With another snowstorm headed into Iowa this evening, I'll be wearing it to run the snowblower tomorrow.
Well I suppose the logical choice is the Gibson & Barnes that is a great Goatskin jacket and heirloom US-made quality - but it does not fit me - too short. :)
If that's not acceptable the Aero Indian Ranger would be the next to depart...
Agree about very nice detailed first post.
+1 on the zip sleeve cuffs. It's what I greatly prefer and that's with wearing a backpack nearly daily into and out of work.
Catch & Release on a Goatskin, cross zip, all black Police style leather jacket from Gibson & Barnes. USA made in California. Jacket shows very little wear, only a small amount of wear evident in the zipper slider. Satin lining in excellent condition. No odors, stains, seam splits or tears...
