Perhaps, but think about the actual work involved. It would mean changing the front chest piece for the new length, the zipper length on the d-pocket, the d-pocket itself would have to be modified, the watch pocket on the d-pocket would change in size, etc... and because the d-pocket and the...
To my eye, part of the problem is that the quick photos are too dark to show the top seam of the D-pocket, so it's accentuating the distance between the D-pocket zipper and the upper chest pocket zipper. In natural light, I expect that it would look more balanced.
This discussion does raise...
When I brought up RMC J-24 pictures, they seem to have pushed the snaps out over the threads on some jackets but not on others. On some jackets the top collar snaps are one way, and the bottom snaps the other...
It seems that Dave may have it right on the J-24s and J-21s, but not on the...
A few of us, led by the intrepid @Superfluous have been discussing the location of collar snaps on reproduction Buco jackets, specifically related to recent J-100s by Diamond Dave, one of which I own. Specifically, the recent J-100 jackets from Dave have the collar snap over the outside...
Agree that the arms are a little bit too short but it's a really beautiful jacket and there are many who prefer the sleeves that length. Certainly it's historically correct as we see in older photos that if you had long arms during WW2, you were going to have sleeves that didn't even reach your...
I second this, it's a nice jacket for the money, and I owned one also. The leather is perhaps better than expected, but not in the class of other jackets he's owned or is considering.
Not sure that I would say that it stretches (although it might), but it's extremely comfortable and flexible and as others have noted, it really doesn't require any break-in time. Certainly the easiest leather to wear, wears like lambskin but lasts like iron.
I believe any of these colors outside of brown and black look best once they are beat up, faded, stained, etc... this way you don't look like you're on a runway, you look like a guy that likes the color blue and who you probably shouldn't question about his choices. I think that's why the Thedi...
Handles the weather better than any of the other leather options, oz for oz it seems to be the toughest. I couldn't even put a surface scratch into goatskin jackets that I've owned. Surface is a uniform, slightly pebbled appearance, so you don't typically get the large graining you see on...
What say you? Not for me but these examples really jumped out at me recently. I think with a little chain grease, bug smears and some road grime, these would really look amazing. First is DD J-100 in Ivory Shinki and then obviously two by Himel. (the navy striped Kensington is a personal...
Still there but with my comments removed. PH conspiracy frankly is the tip of the iceberg. I understand Gary's concern about post 9/11 government security decisions, the use of military force, etc... something that has been debated since 9/12 in almost all western countries. There's a big...
