This is my last post on this as well.
Jake said “People who buy Real McCoys jackets tend to be people that are into high quality/heritage or whatever you want to call it clothing...” conveniently you left out the part after quality/heritage that minimizes the severity of the comment. And when...
You're obsessed with the idea that those who patronize RMC etc. think they're better than those that don't. You see it everywhere even when no one has said anything that indicates that. Saying "a certain kind of person tends to prefer RMC and another Aero" is not a de-facto declaration of a...
I think that the reason dude says that is, if you look at people that own RMC leather jackets etc, it’s together with an entire wardrobe or brands like that.
On the other hand, I’ve personally noticed that many people on this forum generally just focus on the jackets. So, pretty normal jeans...
What do you mean stained in the rain...?
I was caught in the rain in my convertible for 45 minutes wearing my jacket and it only looked better for it.
Do you mean if it’s light colored? If so, it just depends on the type of tanning the leather went through.
The thing that drives me crazy...
I'm a little confused on how you can say this. Do you know the length of time it takes to prepare Shinki leather vs. horween leather? Or how long an RMC jacket takes to make vs. an aero jacket? Or the kinds of machines, and cost to maintain them, that make each jacket? Or the pay rate for the...
I'd agree that I don't find Real McCoy's all that authentic and I find it strange when that is used as a descriptor for the brand. I'm not saying that a 40 is a big size, it is like a medium. I'm just saying that I'm not small, very average by American standards, and yet they still make jacket...
haha... @dudewuttheheck does have some good stuff. Actually, we live about 30 mins away from each other so when we hangout we always take a look at any new stuff we've got. For the record, I have two RMC jackets (both 40) and sold a J-100 a while back.
Just quoting some of the stuff I wanted...
Forgive me...
What makes you sure that your attitude to RMC purchases and ownership is the same as Japanese customers?
How many Japanese have you surveyed regarding their attitudes towards owning RMC products?
Have you got a copy of the questionnaire I could look at please (although my Japanese...
Yep. Imo it's all about figuring out what you're looking your leather to do for you. For me, I want something that has great style, feels sturdy, and ages well... so a real mccoys jacket in shinki leather is perfect for me.
I think there's no way someone could look at shinki leather, tea core or not, and consider it overall inferior quality to anything. Not ideal for riding your motorcycle, maybe. But overall quality? Shinki tea core is just fantastic.
Yeah, I live in socal so I really don’t need to zip it out. Also, I think that it looks better open anyway.
In the pic I’m wearing a heavy sweat underneath it but I just posted it zipped for reference.
Definitely a jacket to be worn open!
Thank you guys!
The jacket is amazing but what I’m so happy about is the fit. It’s one of those jackets that just feels right to wear and walk around in. Not just standing in.
I hope I can show you some evo on it eventually:)
