I've had this new black Bogart from Hufvud for a week, but the rainy weather put this post on hold. This is my 4th Hufvud, and I really like Mikael's new liner. Terrific addition to my small collection.
I'll be sure to post some pics, Joe. I've fallen hard for Mikael's hats. Beyond the vintage look, the comfort took me off-guard. Now some of my other hats feel like I'm wearing a shoe-box on my head.
This one is due to arrive mid-week. Black 50x Beaver with Steel ribbon. 5-inch crown, 2.5-inch brim. This will be my 4th Hufvud (3 off the Marketplace, 1 custom), and these are Mikael's pictures.
I spent 5 nights in a perfect house on the Oregon Coast with my mother and sister, who live several states away and I see far too infrequently.
The sand CD was my hat of choice for the trip because, well... it is replaceable. It is WINDY on the Oregon Coast. (The CD made it home.)
My new Hufvud arrived yesterday evening. This is my first true custom, and my first experience with felt that contains a notable amount of beaver. Mikael's work is astounding. The felt is light, soft and flexible, but holds its shape like nobody's business.
I love the blue tones in the...
Thanks Joe. Mikael sent pics with an astounding number of brim-binding colors to choose from. I feel like I may have gone the easy route, but I love the black.
Mikael has just moved into a new shop space, and he seems very enthusiastic about the change. When I placed my order a few weeks back I was told the wait time would be about 3 months.
Whoops! Just ordered another Hufvud and my first actual custom.
For the interested: Bogart Fedora, Emerald Grey (50x Beaver Blend) with bound brim. Have not firmly decided upon the color of ribbon/brim-binding yet. Going to work with Mikael on that - I want to see what a dark burgundy looks...
Indulging myself with the Leifur by Hufvud again. My collection is small, so it's easy to wear it at least once a week. It is definitely brown under fluorescents, but in daylight the felt comes alive in a dazzling array.
It is comfortable today here on the East Side, as we Seattle-area folks...
Low light pic and fly-away bow-tail notwithstanding, the Cedar Brown CD spruced me up for an early morning grocery run.
I'm going to be in a friend's wedding soon, and I need a grey suit, so I switched to the Moonstone CD to head into town and confront that obstacle. The groom and I have...
Not sure why I chose this vertigo-inducing angle, but it was chillier than I expected on my lunchtime walk so I was in a hurry to get a picture of the Taupe Fawn Campdraft.
