Paypal have the money to refund regardless of whether Mark does!
Had an interesting email from another customer today, who were refunded by American Express....
"After further research it turns out that (in the USA) Paypal has to accept valid (like "not delivered") chargebacks from the...
I don't know where this misinformation came from.
The last jackets left the factory by air to Mark on the 19th of March and were paid for on that date. We did know in January that his credit had been extended in December as Amanda was trying to help him through what seemed to us to be...
Your timing must have been awful, it was on the 20th that we had first indications that something was wrong. Our accountant spotted a problem and contacted us. At that point we hadn't had a response from Mark to our first email and Amanda wouldn't have been aware of any problem, even on the...
I'd wager he knew enough "posting" names to keep his reputation in tip top shape.
There are several more cases like this which have come to our attention, it would appear that certain customers... I'm assuming those whose orders were never actually placed with the factory were sent "any...
Mark Moye was FORCED out of business if you accept that being unable to pay outstanding well overdue bill and being told he wouldn't get any more deliveries until he did constitutes "being FORCED out of business" If we were in the same position with any of our tanneries, I’d go to the bank...
Just to update you guys, I'm heading off to London for a few days for a holiday booked long before this all came to light. I'll be trying to check in, and check emails, but if anyone has any urgent information or enquires, please contact my dad on ken@aeroleatherclothing.com.
Thanks, hope you...
To be honest, sometimes this wouldn't guarantee things, as I explained before, when actual formal orders come in, there is no name attached to them. There has been various cases of someone asking Amanda for advice, and the orders still not being placed. She wouldn't know which order was which...
Oh I understand, just explaining why Amanda might have suggested to any customer that they only deal with us or Mark, it was purely to save confusion.
Keep us posted on paypal's decision, and if they don't help you, please do go to your bank, they are be far the most helpful in most cases so far.
The reason Amanda, and I previously assumed Mark, would have discouraged coming to us on an order placed with him is because it can become confusing for us to be involved in his orders, but the main reason is that the orders that we send to him do not have any customers names attached to them...
Some good news which should be of interest to any customers still trying to claim back a refund, I just had an email from one customer saying "My bank has agreed to refund my payment to Mark. If it helps any of your other customers, I ordered via eBay and paid by PayPall in Feb 2011. I paid in...
Something else we'd like to point out, when Mark's eBay text first stated that he was now limiting orders to 12-16 jackets a month "to get to grips with the lead time" there was no such limit from the factory on orders. We have always sent out as many orders as he's been able to pay for, no...
Unfortunately I think you're bang on with that, I can't see that this could possibly have happened from bad planning/poor business structure. I only wish we were aware of things sooner and could have put a stop to things before they were so out of control.
I'm sorry again to all of Mark's...
Thank you for pointing the above out. And let me assure you Mark made money off re-selling these jackets, he purchased them from us at the lowest trade price we offered any wholesale customer.
The reason for all these delays is that Mark never placed some of these orders, and the ones he did place it would appear he placed them months after he received them.
I don't think anyone has suggested that you have any fault in any of it, well not that I've seen. You shouldn't feel bad, all you've done is honestly support business that have done right by you, you weren't to know of any of the problems ahead.
Hope that you feel better soon, I'd hate for...
Thanks for your investigation, that's one thing I hadn't thought of looking into. Can you please keep me informed on any information you may find, or pass on information about who we could talk to about this?
Thanks.
I never meant to imply that you would ever have expected preferential treatment, nor participated in it. I've merely pointed out that it seems Mark has done better by most of the customers here, as he's been smart enough to realise had he wronged these people, word would have got out sooner and...
