This is exactly what I have been trying to get across. It is not a case of us "concealing information" as we've been accused of. We have always had a standard price, world wide. There have been no changes in our 30 years as a company.
We do not charge VAT to American customers but are forced by the economics of trading in UK to 'swallow' the VAT portion of our price in the UK (paid to HM Government by Aero along with all the other UK taxes imposed on us, both blatant and hidden…… NI contributions, employment taxes, waste...
Haha! Not at all, but it is a real factor which needs to be accounted for. We have never charged different prices according to size, and this is one of the conditions which has helped allow us to do this.
The factory is closed for a 2 week holiday, but I've just noticed this thread and wanted to respond to assure you we're not dodging the issue. I won't be able to respond regularly as I'm on holiday for most of this time too, but here's our response.
We do, and always have, had one price...
We've stocked other brands since 1986 but only if we feel these product are of a high enough quality. Some of Pike Brothers pieces are very impressive.
Their sweatshirt is amazing, the best we've seen since our old Slapshot sweats, and their Jeans are a very good example of vintage styling and...
I sent you a message Jack, could you let me know the details ASAP, or if anyone else has them could you drop me a PM or email me at holly@aeroleatherclothing.com.
Thanks!
I think it looks great, no need to send it back to us if you're happy with the fit. As we've explained on a new page on the Aero site, it's very hard for us to guarantee exact measurements, and anything in the region of a ½" difference from a request has to be allowed for due to the difficulty...
I asked my dad about this for you Mike, he's much more able to offer sound advice on this than me! He said when we had The Thrift Shop, where he had around 500 leather jackets in stock at any one time often including 50 to 100 original Type A-2s, he tried every Neatsfoot oil going, terrible...
We've added a new section to the Aero website, about wear and care for your Aero jacket. As it says on it, under the section "Treating Horsehide Leather"...
"Do nothing, absolutely nothing. Do not oil it, don't treat it with hide food - even ours, this is for old steerhide jackets and dried up...
I'm afraid thats not correct, there is import duty on used clothing. Here's the link to US Customs that explains the situation, only "rags" in bales are free, normal used clothing comes in at the same rate of duty as new...
All true, that was done a couple of times with wet horsehide jackets in 1986, took them round to the park at lunchtime and had a game of football with them!
We take credit card and visa debit cards over our website and online, so there's no problem with payments from overseas. They've not even been honest with us about their policies since this has come out, as they can see by telling us the truth, policies eBay has admitted to us in writing (and...
Outrageously poor customer service by Paypal on the whole with all of this. We're massively disappointed. They've been canvassing us for years to take Paypal as a form of payment, and we were almost at the point of agreeing on it, but after how they've treated customers with this, and...
Basically that's the outcome, however we severed ties with Mark due to his inability to pay off debts with us, at the close of his business we had no idea that he was collecting money for orders without forwarding them on to us, this has all only come to light since that point.
