Also, SJC now have a small stock of their awesome 20s flannel dress and work shirts...
You need to keep looking and you need to know your measurements. Often vintage sizes 11 fit like modern size 10.5. Often listings are without size but with measurements. Also, take a look at Etsy and scan your local Goodwills regularly. 10.5 is about the most common size today. You have to be...
Actually, narrow vintage shoes in size 10.5 are out in abundance. Normal and wide widths are more difficult to obtain. You just have to search eBay regularly.
In fact, there is a 1930s 3-PC French workwear suit in the SJC pipeline. Unconstructed, with belt back, bellows pockets and a very special waistcoat design. It will be available in corduroy and in vaugan, both washable.
Have a look at SJC. Great reproductions. Suits and trousers will be available in the near future. www.simonjamescathcart.com Also take a look at the SJC forum to get an idea what is in the pipeline.
These awesome 8.8oz. flannel work shirts from SJC are going live soon. 2 styles in 3 color ways. A 1930s work shirt with chin strap, two chest pockets and reinforced elbows and a 1920s pop-over shirt.

If you want a Highwayman with a decent fit at the waist you might have to get a custom job where it is tapered down below the armholes. The design is essentially better suited for guys who don't have such a high drop between chest/shoulders and waist. I even had to taper down my 30s half belt...
I read a blog comment where someone said his William Lennon Field Boots were the best hiking boots he ever had, outperforming his twice as expensive Meindl boots. They also have their Hill Boots with lots of toe spring for hiking in the mountains and you can have all boots either with hobnailed...
The jackets are now also available without patches. In leather as well as melton wool. Leather comes in black, navy and maroon, melton in brown, black, green and navy.
I used to wear mine only below freezing. After obtaining my Swedish M1909 shearling parka I didn't wear it at all for two winters and then sold it. When it's really cold I want some protection on my ass and legs as well, so the parka is much more suitable.
Some great new stuff is available at the moment from SJC. Long sleeved winter polo shirts, melton wool waistcoats with patch pockets in six different designs, gang jackets, shawl collar cardigans, caps made by Barry Simonds and the footwear is also available again (Balmoral boots, engineers and...
I own the Brakeman jeans, which are the best jeans I ever had. No quality issues whatsoever, quite the contrary. I also have three of the polos. Design and quality are superb. In all my dealings with Simon he has been more than forthcoming.
I am going to receive the first SJC 1930s suit. And...
You are the wrong size. If you were a 38 or 40 you would have plenty jackets to choose from but jackets in 46 are very rare, even if you are prepared to shell out a premium. And I dare say, if you want to spend less than 100 bucks they are pretty much non-existent or totally thrashed and unwearable.
I used to have a Chromexcel jacket with tight sleeves and both sateen and cotton drill. I found it totally uncomfortable and way too hot. I would go for just the cotton drill. It easy to slip on the jacket and way more durable than the sateen. Both my current jackets have just the cotton drill.
