Thank you for your words, Monitor! In fact, a tough jacket made for riding. And about the other question... If I ever think about that, you'll be the first to know!
The jacket I began this passion with is this padded heavyweight.
I thought it was a Cal at first, the 60s/70s cross-zip padded version I was looking for. When I got it, I realized little details that didn't match the reference pics of the model I sought. You know, different stitching...
Same here! I have my jackets hanging mainly in the ends of the wardrobe rod in order to avoid putting weight in the middle. I should buy this kind of support soon:
Beautiful collection, Bahabp100! This LAPD Cal is well-preserved despite its age. The Leatherman one, which is an Al's Leather actually, seems to be a thick garment. If I'm not mistaken, the Schott 1985 JD-2 is the same as Schott 120, right?
Aberdeen flight jacket $50, with an early version of Talon. eBay
Antler flight jacket, $86. eBay
Brown Golden Bear in mint condition, $200. Etsy
A well-worn Oakbrook, $81. eBay
Berman's MC jacket, $120. eBay
Here another chance, but in a size 42. eBay
I'd go with the brown one. Both are beautiful, but the brown has more charm. Maybe I associate the style with the color, or it's just I don't have many brown jackets, so when I see a cool one, I really like.
If the jacket was a bargain, but it’s THE jacket, I'll keep it. And I don’t care if I can get thousands, 'cause the main reason for my search wasn’t doing business, but getting it.
For what it's worth, I wouldn't sell anything which I feel emotionally attached with. The problem selling stuff is...
I'd say it was made in 60s, IMO. As an example, belt loops of 50s Cals usually have a rounded tip around the snap, not squared. I don't know the concrete time when the company made these kinds of changes in their patterns, we may assume all of them happen over the time subtly.
