Ended up getting myself an Eastman G-1 ( https://www.historypreservation.com/products-page/eastman-leather-usnusmc/usn-g-1-intermediate-flying-jacket-spec-55j14/ )
Bummer about this stitch but I'll try to forget about it..
Sorry about the poor quality photos
RE; sizing - Real Mccoy (London) thinks that a 40 is worth a try in the J-100. I measured my chest and it's 106cm over a tshirt. Per their guide, the jacket is 108cm and they say it'll stretch some too.
In general I have no plans to wear this over a thick shirt, either...a 42 has too wide of...
Ive only looked at the Real Mccoy G-1 and the 44 has a 44" chest, 19.5" shoulder, and 28.25" front length whereas a 42 has a 42.5" chest, 18.75" shoulder and 27.5" front length
Pretty slim IMO.
Eastman (based of HPA measurements) is a better fit in a 42 for me with a 44.5" chest and a 19"...
Just dont think I will be wearing this much, certainly not since winter is coming.
Worn once or twice, no wear on it. Still have the tag for it as well.
$900 shipped in the USA
Ah, didn't notice that the ELMC G-1 is the horsehide, not the one that HPA offers from the mainline Eastman, also Standard and Strange didn't have that in a 42 and also reading that it was trimmer/longer, which is not my body type, based on what S&S write.
I liked the RMC a lot but that fit's...
I get this, if the cost was not an issue, would you feel the same?
As far as buying a used one, not against it, but also want to break it in myself :) (I write this as I'm wearing my RMC A-2 with no babying it..) I spent the $$$, like hell I will take it off!
I quite like the look of this! Price is right too.. https://www.thurston-bros.com/products/aero-board-racer-size-42-blackened-brown-vicenza-horsehide-3?_pos=1&_sid=8b42bf1e3&_ss=r
but it's "inspired" by. Maybe Eastman is the way to go.
Ill have to talk with Charles to get measurements, haven't...
Eastman G-1 ( https://www.historypreservation.com/products-page/eastman-leather-usnusmc/usn-g-1-intermediate-flying-jacket-spec-55j14/ ) looks quite good to me in a 42, price seems right too :)
Real McCoy is significantly more expensive and also the 42 seems *very* slim in comparison to the 42...
Thanks for the suggestions, the only downside is not sure what sort of return policy there would be for a J-100 from either HPA or Standard and Strange (Eastman, RMC, respectfully) as both would be a special order
Eyeing a few different ones right now, doesn't appear like any are available in the US right now..
Real McCoy would be a custom order by Standard and Strange to get it in, $1900 USD
ELMC looks nice, haven't seen a US stockist..
