Thanks @jeo, I was hoping you'd chime in given your experience with so many different models. Much appreciated.

There's one for sale on ebay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1990s-Vintage-REPRO-The-Real-McCoys-Buco-J-57-Motorcycle-Leather-Jacket-38-j-100/173908191068
It's a stunning cafe racer style jacket. I assume RMC discontinued the model/style. How's it differ from the J-100? What years did they produce...
Couldn't agree more. I'm all for making a profit if that's what you want but this one left a very sour taste.
I remember reading an article by Anthony Bourdain about getting a Bob Kramer custom. That is something to dream about.
Great point.
Custom folding knife from Scott Cook, the Lochsa in Damascus took 2 years.
He’s a craftsman that faced huge demand for his work. He kept a list but wouldn’t take deposits. It worked wonderfully. However once his wait exceeded 2 years he stopped taking orders. He never took money up front which...
Lovely find! I hit my local flea market this morning and saw a handful of Wilson’s and no name denim jackets. I always dream of a find like yours. Congrats! Amazing that it fits so well.
Looks good on you. As enthusiasts we look for nits to pick. General population doesn’t see it that way.
My issue is that you aren’t a hair larger so your A1 would fit me.
That is a stunning piece of work. Fits perfectly as well. I’ve been waiting for Himel to get that dark brown Shinki for a while. He gave me the “soon” response a couple of months back. It’s lovely stuff and yours is a great use of that leather.
Very cool jacket and even better story.
“Condition is Used. I bought this from a school friend in 1972. His dad bought it in Canada in 1945. My kids wore it in the 1990s and had a new zip fitted which is working fine“
Fits perfectly. Very nice. Curious about the shade of shinki, is it called simply brown or medium brown. I'd love to spec something in a super dark shinki like Himel's dark brown but he's faced similar availability issues. Hoping that supply is getting better for the N. American makers.
Where was this taken? Great image!
I'm with you. Pictures of their worn jackets are stunning & their IG feed is something else. Sadly they aren't made to fit a guy my size.
Note, I don't think these are pre-distressed. I'm guessing the pictured jacket is one that's been worn for a while...
I ordered on and returned it. Curious more than anything as I loved the pics and wanted one years ago. RE: sizing, I'm a 46 in the ELMC Californian, 44 Aero CR (sold) and recently bought a 46 RMC BucoJ100. I went with an XL in the CAF1 and it was HUGE. Big everywhere, chest, shoulders, sleeves...
That is a stunning piece and would likely fit me. I've been drooling over the same seller's Buco Rider in deerskin:

I've never handled deerskin. I'm sure it's a...
