I mean general model of the jacket. TBH, I have tried/owned only Aero's CR/BR based patterns and Schott's 3-4 models like P665 Asset, P663 Delivery, Restoration Hardware CR & Context 113CXL. So my experience is quite limited. The fit of all jackets I have owned from these brands has been...
@Carlos840 absolutely agreed, it is an individual opinion & I respect yours & @dudewuttheheck's choice
For me, yes I will appreciate the perfect rectangle & the impeccable stitching, especially at $1k+, but there a few important factors such as maturity of the pattern and fit in which I believe...
Personally, I don’t understand the scrutiny scale on which Schott is always found wanting by some fellow forum members, especially that of stitching. I can understand people don’t appreciate the value proposition of Schott’s regular leather offerings(non horween/shinki) basis their current...
Looks great. Ideal black jacket for the 1 jacket kind of guy. I have the CXL version of this jacket, the P663, and had to get sleeves shortened & slimmed post which it fits real nice. Sleeves appear similarly long on this one as well, may want to check with Jerri/Denise for sizing sheet before...
Is this Horsehide or steerhide? Schott has been sellling the steerhide version since 2017. There was a horsehide version called P665H which was sold in 2016 as a limited run
Great fit. Congratulations
@AeroFan_07 could you through some light on how can hard soap be used to soften the zipper? The one on my Sheene is really hard, even though jacket is almost new
Personally, I would not spend $875, or even $700 on a Golden Bean or taylor stitch leather jacket. If you are sure you don't want to extend the budget, go for an off the rack stock Aero from Thurston (prices for stock Aeros Cafe racers from TB can be around $950-975 excluding tax which I...
In this budget, I would suggest you go with Aero & 'lighter than normal' CXL FQHH which Aero can definitely do on request. You could get in touch with Thurston and get them to start your fit jacket process. After you receive your fit jacket(try to get one in the same leather, & not only the same...
Interesting topic, I am sure most of us have had a similar experience atleast once. I sold a Black FQHH Sheene on the bay this year, which I though fit too tight when zipped up. But the CXL on it was shiny, soft & perfect, and so were the other measurements. As soon as the jacket left my home...
I actually like the look of the centre seam on two of my most favoured jackets, Board Racer & Schott's P665. Centre seam + bottom Kidney Panel is a visually pleasing combination imo, besides helping with the fit
The one on their website currently is made out of Blattwerk horsehide, while this one is Horween Lux. This was checked with SXS by previous owner. They have confirmed the jacket was offered in both leathers, apparently the Lux version did not have shoulder gussets
Not sure, but my arms measure 24 inches from shoulders to wrist. The sleeve length looks to be okay for me, its the shoulders that are too wide. I have 18" shoulders, and this jacket is 19.5". I think it fits more like a 42 or L rather than the labelled 40
