Max, probably 90% or more of the vintage hats you see here are hare, rabbit or a mix. There just was not a commercial supply of beaver available in that time period. Thank you Stefan. Knudsen is a custom maker in San Francisco. I believe they make mostly westerns. This one was make in '91 according to a label under the sweat. The felt is amazingly soft but keeps its shape.- Richard Morgan
