Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

Californian half belt jacket. @tmitchell59 has a couple of these, and, despite the model, I believe it's a men's jacket.

Aero did a few deerskin shirts for Iron Heart that used leather from a traditional tanner in Germany. That'd be a cool choice. Here's a photo of Haraki's after a few years of wear.

    Simple Cossack Jacket Suggestions

NorShor Leathers offer the Tweedy Cossack, which is a slightly different thirties style. John Chapman has a couple of Cossack patterns. I really like the Security Aviation Togs that he based off a jacket belonging to @tmitchell59. Unfortunately ordering off Good Wear means a long and...

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

As @Mrfrown said, they're very nicely made. I've seen a few at Rivet and Hide, and Danny (the proprietor) was trying to make excuses to keep one for himself.

Himel Bros Excelsior in a pigment finish horsehide and without a lining. I rather like this. Also, a camouflage pattern Excelsior.

Fine Creek probably choose that leather so it'll look worn in really quickly. Given that everyone here has forty jackets, I doubt that'll be an issue. :p The Instagram photos look like they've been processed to increase contrast, and show up the grain. The leather looks a lot smoother in the...

    Aero Cropduster . . . gone?

You forgot import duty, at 5%. :) My back of the envelope calculation suggests it'd cost around $1800 for a Vicenza jacket direct from Aero. That's about the same as it would be from a local stockist, like Pickings and Parry. As for the Cropduster, I'm sure that Aero could build you one if you...

Favorite jacket? Owned or dreamed of.

I'd like a simple Cossack, Half Belt, or Café Racer jacket. Unlined, a couple of pockets, and in a leather that will look disreputable with age... However, I keep on looking at the Electric Leather Studios jackets and thinking of going rather more seventies.

What are your sunglasses of choice?

Another fan of Jacques Marie Mage here. I tried on several pairs last year, and will probably go with the Ringo (top right) or Apollinaire (left) in the next few weeks I'm also considering the Aragon, Cassady, Clark, and Fontana, but I haven't had a chance to try these yet.

What is this jacket style called? (made by Ship John)

Black Bear do a rough out natural leather chore jacket. It might be an alternative to the Ship John Wills. https://blackbearbrand.com/black-bear-brand-factory-store/horween-rough-out-orion-chorejacket Alternatively, Ship John are likely to rerun the Wills in a different leather at some point...
