Just a bit too big for me or I'd be all over this. Golden Bear -
Looks to be in good overall condition; good lining and knits. A little cleaning and conditioning, and I bet this will make someone very happy! P2P 21", shoulders 18", sleeve 25", back 24". $50 + shipping...
Not sure if this one was already posted here. 21" P2P; longer torso than some - 27" top of collar to bottom of hem in back. Starting bid $145; one day to go. Link
Enjoying a major change in the weather - dropped 25 degrees F from the past few days and it's raining for the first time in months. Finally getting to wear this new-to-me Levi's Bluestar goatskin 1930s influenced jacket. Kind of similar to the short-waisted Menlo halfbelt, but this one just has...
Good point. So basically if the leather is crispy feeling on the surface but not so dried through that it's totally stiff? And yeh, Skidmore's actually recommends treating really dry leather from both sides. Of course, this often isn't possible with jackets; but I guess on a jacket that has a...
^^^ To follow up on this, Urad is more of a topcoat and does not deeply rehydrate the leather. One of the best products for deeply conditioning really dry leather is Skidmore's. Available on Amazon. I actually prefer to mix it with petroleum jelly at about 1:1. Slather it on and let it soak in...
Another aviator - 1949 Hercules in very good condition - lining looks practically new. Not a deal, but figured I should share it nonetheless. P2P 20", shoulders 17". $800 + shipping.

Avirex A-2; a few little holes in the leather, but it's got a lot of character; P2P 23", shoulders 22", sleeves 22", length 23.5"; $95 + shipping. Link
I think part of it is finding the right match / profile between top and bottom. To my eye, a bulkier jacket works better with a fuller fitting jean, but a slimmer fitting jacket works better with jeans that are closer fitting (not necessarily slim fit, just not such a baggy fit...). And yes...
If the flaking is just superficial, you might be able to gently remove the worst of it. I did this on my 30s HH by getting these areas damp and then very gently rubbing with a little piece of wool cloth, and then with just the pad of my index finger in a small, circular motion. The cloth didn't...
You could always just be off camera speaking as you demonstrate the process. Or do a voiceover in post-production. I think there's a lot of interest in out there on how to restore compromised leather since there are a lot of jackets, shoes, boots, bags... out there that look questionable (crispy...
