Exactly. I find it hilarious that people buy these garments chasing a rough and tumble look, saying this is authentic, then lambast people who complain about their jeans falling apart after one machine wash. Oh you should freeze it, dry clean, or take a bath with it on. I imagine the gold...
I've given up on things that may be historically accurate but functionally inferior or unnecessarily costly. If unskived means I'll have bloated seams I'll pass. If they gotta hammer the crap out of it to flatten it... While it's not skiving it's essentially the same thing. Leather isn't metal...
Yeah not skiving edges is like high stitch count, just not necessary especially if there are other issues present.
But for some, historical accuracy trumps everything else. Everyone needs a hobby I just wish hobbyists didn't elevate unnecessary things. Like I'm a car guy but I don't recommend...
I think this the same struggle many, myself included, experience. While something may look great on a hanger and in others, it may not look good on you.
I considered about getting a jacket in that color, but it is a bolder color and therefore does draw attention and gives the appearance of more...
I owned a 17 gt350 and a c5z but driven all but the c8.
Corvettes in general drive very comfortably and soaks up miles. Because they're light-ish with ideal weight distribution and dimensions, they don't have to over stiffen the suspension. The gt350 isn't bad in comfort setting but with the...
Is that what happened to you?
How'd it go with everyone else? I mean I know times are busy but I would hope they maintained their usual stellar service.
I totally get it, and let me offer yet another perspective. From a collector standpoint, collectors live for the treasure hunt and if you struck gold, another way to look at it even if it's not too your taste is that it's the fruit of your hunts. Car guys dream about that barn find for instance...
Just want to make sure I understand the premise there, you bought something for a presumably low price, and it ends up being far more valuable. Before finding out its current market value, you were ambivalent towards the item, but upon learning you struck gold you now look at it differently. Or...
I do know it's German, so for a while it was called the German stuff, until Masaye became the name.
For folks considering goat anywhere, I would steer them to the Masaye leather. The goat is great, but some don't like the pebbly texture where horse has a more brushed texture.
The unicorn...
I can attest that the Masaye leather is super supple, almost lambskin like in terms of drape and softness, but is horsehide so it retains alot of the character and look.
Sometimes I still think I should have something made in that leather, lol.
I like my jackets longer since I never tuck my shirt in, and don't like revealing my belly button when I lift my hands up, or plumber's crack when I bend over to tie my shoes. I think that's why I gravitate towards button jackets since I can just button the two middle buttons and can move/sit...
