I can't find a shop anywhere near me that stocks lots of different styles for me to try. Very frustrating. It may be a case of trial and error and ordering them online. Rather expensive way of doing it. Unless anyone on here can reccomend a shop near Birmingham in England....?
I'm not the kind of guy who likes things to be perfect. In fact perfection tends to bore me. I like my guitars beat up, my home is full of rustic furniture and from what I've learnt so far, I like hats that have character too. I'm sure My mind may change as I delve more.
One thing I've noticed...
I need to try a load on... I'm not sure I could get away with a wider brim and a don't really like it when hats are too close to the eyes.. Not on me anyway. I would like a less tapered top. I'm liking the look so far anyway. You guys reckon there is a fedora for everyone then?
I'm pleased some of you like it. It's funny you say that about the top as i was actually wishing it was a bit higher!! So the opposite of what you are saying... Interesting...
Thanks! Like I said, it's nowt special but it will do for now. At what point is a brim considered unsubstantial? This one seems to be just over 2.5 inches wide... And do different brim widths suit different faces?
Thanks for all the help guys. It's nice to go on a forum and people be decent!! I think I'm going to find a shop near by and try a load on before I make the plunge. However, I was walking through my local high street earlier and saw this! It was 16 quid and to be honest, I think it's a bit small...
Yes you are right. May need to up my budget... The brim on most of the ones I look at seek to be sloping down slightly. Has he Mildred his to slightly bend up all the way round or do they all have this capability?
I'll be honest, I had no idea such a huge hat community existed! This could be my new favourite forum on the Internet. Cheers guys! "Stetson fedora" in Google brings up some crackers! A little pricey for a first timer though... Was hoping for something in the £40 region...
Hi all! I've been a hat wearer for a few years now but have mostly stuck with straw trilby styled hats. I'm looking at purchasing a proper hat and thought you guys could help me out by telling what sort of hat this young fellow is wearing in this photo. I really like this style...
