I've posed this one in years gone by - can anyone recommend a few makers of good quality corduroy blazers (besides Old Town and Cordings)? Many companies seem to make a version, but I rarely see quality cord blazers that are well cut and made from solid cord fabric. Any thoughts?
Possibly, although Aero as a family business may not participate is such marketing strategies. But I suspect you are close in as much as Ken likes to try out ideas because, if he is anything at all, he is a proud craftsperson who relishes tinkering with his passion. If it sells, great. But maybe...
Nice summary. I don't own a hoodie or any active wear and I have worn a suit 3 or 4 times in 35 years. I generally wear my hats with what we used to call neat casuals. Cord, tweed or leather jacket. Usually my self-imposed 'uniform' of a black cotton shirt and dark trousers. I'm not sure if...
I have worn a hat of some kind 30 years. Mainly to deal with sun or cold. While I choose them with some care, I do not wear a hat for fashion or for looks and I do not collect them. I have about 8 felt hats a few Tilleys and 3 caps. They have a job to do in our very harsh climate. I consider a...
It looks every bit as lacklustre as the Lewis version - the frill is too even and the individual cuttings are too wide. But it is a specific look - not cheap so much as aesthetically unsatisfying.
I didn't go by their sizes. I gave them my measurements. Don't do anything. else. I went with a principle that my idea of a 42 tends to be 23 inches pit to pit. I think their sizes can be safely ignored. Sorry for the confusion.
That's how I approach all makers. It can only ever be the measurements. In Aeros, for instance, I am a 38, 42, 44 depending on the pattern and iteration of that pattern.
I'm not as concerned about fit as some people here so I am not the best person to ask. In any jacket I order I just get a 23 inch chest, 26 sleeve, 27 back, 19 shoulder. It fit fairly trim. I have a 40 inch chest measured and am six two with a 33 inch waist. If I do custom again I may well...
I have that one in mint condition. Was going to sell mine too but seeing how cool this looks makes me wonder. It looks much better than most of the snazzy, expenisve cafe racer repops I've seen posted.
The J100ish jacket on the website was mine. It was very well made and needed some tweaking - my specs. Shoulders were 19 inches across in a size 42 (23 pit to pit). It appeared to be as well made as an Aero, but with lesser materials. I didn't like the goat finish or strong chemical smell. After...
Hmmm.... it strikes me as somewhat perverse (not to mention resource intensive) that potentially we can have a jacket flown half way around the world, relined and returned to us for less that it would cost to fix it in our own city (if you can even source a service that can do it). No wonder the...
This doesn't directly answer your question but US Wings bought out Cooper Sportswear from Neil Cooper and for a while some items were sold with 2 labels. The Cooper designation was eventually ceased.
