What jeans are you wearing today ?

It took me a while to learn this but it finally got through my head that jeans shouldn't be work. If they don't fit they don't fit. I do not subscribe to the "soldier on" mentality at all. I have many pairs of jeans in my closet I never wear now because my balls get crushed by the rise that I...

    Freewheelers LaBrea

Buyee has a shipping cost estimator you can check out. Buyee didn't say exactly how much my jackage weighed but it came in a pretty standard jacket box. The estimater says a 3kg package costing 200k yen costs ~$200 though so Genco may be pretty close to their quote. Though they also said...

    Freewheelers LaBrea

Sure but I doubt Buyee has some international shipping deal worked out with FedEx (they might?) and if they do see if Genco would be open to using Buyee as the proxy to leverage their shipping contracts?

    Freewheelers LaBrea

The shipping costs were not my experience. I recently had my Flat Head jacket sent to me via FedEx and the shipping cost ~$40 USD. International Shipping Fee (From Buyee to your Address) 4,356 yen Shipping Insurance Fee 0 yen Package Consolidation Fee 0 yen Protective Packaging Fee 0 yen...

    Freewheelers LaBrea

I've only bought 1 leather jacket from Japan but buy quite a bit of general clothes from there. First is you really have to know your measurements really well. As with most advise just find a jacket or shirt that fits you well and measure it. Second is to find out how they measure their...

Denim Jackets - New or Vintage

Ha thats hilarious. Yeah the parts don't look like they belong to the same jacket. I was just surprised to see the combs not wrapping around on your partner's jacket since from what I understand normally high-end manufactured distressing occurs on the completed garment not on the individual...

Denim Jackets - New or Vintage

I like the manufactured distressing on the front. Unless the sleeves are really long the honeycombing on the sleeves may be a tad overboard. It also looks like they didn't distress the denim panels on the back of the sleeve with the combs? Really nice looking type 2 though

Waxed canvas ... how does it wear?

I haven't had a waxed canvas jacket but I own a waxed denim trucker. It was parafin coated and I thought it looked pretty bad. Virtually all of it came off in the first machine wash, luckily.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I've seen some lost in translation instances where Japanese retailers say something is suede when it is actually roughout. For example when I was ordering things off global Rakuten they had red wings which I knew were roughout boots but translated to suede. Not sure if you speak the language...

    My Himel Experience (v2)

It seems a bit unfair to expect the consumer of a $2500+ leather jacket to also be ontop of QC and hounding the owners when there is a problem and presenting solutions. When you're on the top end of absolute luxury goods more is expected. The jacket should have failed QC outright and if the...

    Fine Creek Leather

I have the Self Edge version of the IHJ-54 and yeah its a very wearable jacket. Super soft leather, generous proportions and a really comfortable pattern. There is a chance I may sell mine as well simply because the arm length is a bit much for me but I like pretty much everything else about...

    Japanese-Made WWII Repro Jackets

I could see this thread being a trainwreck but I'll try and address why to me I have no problems with Japanese culture reproducing WW2 era clothing and jackets. The Japanese culture seems to have learned and corrected from the mistakes and atrocities of war. You can even look to popular...

The Flat Head SRJ-06 Cafe Racer in Brown

Have you had any luck trying to get an individual seller consolodate a bunch of auctions? The seller I purchased this jacket from must have gotten some closeout deals on TFH so there are a bunch of button ups I want to buy but not really looking to pay the $10 buyee proxy fee on each one nor...

Wouldn't it be a shame if this thread gets locked/removed too?

I saw it and was somewhat confused it was taken down. I falsely assumed the OP took it down himself not sure why the mods would take it down. He had very clear and very good evidence of subpar construction on his jacket.

The Flat Head SRJ-06 Cafe Racer in Brown

I love TFH obviously but their jeans aren't my favorite. The pocket bags are comically thin. I can't wear these jeans for real because my right side pocket bag is effectively disentigrated.

The Flat Head SRJ-06 Cafe Racer in Brown

Arrived fresh from Japan this morning. One of my grail jackets that I was extremely nervous I would never get my hands on due to TFH going defunct/restructured. Very thankful to Fedora Lounge for turning me on to buyee to proxy this jacket to my doorstep. All-in the jacket ran me about $1k...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Not my personal style but that jacket is undeniably cool looking

    Aero Leather Grizzly.

I feel the tonal nature of the fur to the leather probably makes it less noticable in the wild compared to Carlos' who has much more contrasting colors. Just walking by I'd probably assume Marc's is a wool jacket with leather sleeves.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Not really a jacket per-se but my TFH selvage denim wabash overshirt today. My favorite part about it is the stitch porn on the inside where a wabash stripe stays inside the stitch work the entire length of the shirt. Not sure if all these are cut in such a way that it works out that way or...
